Call of Duty 4 straight to #2 on Xbox Live

Xbox News | Update also coming for the shooter.
Microsoft game-blogging mouthpiece Major Nelson has posted the latest Xbox Live statistics, and in it's first week of availibility Activision's Call of Duty 4 has jumped stright to the number two spot on the most-played charts, knocking long serving champion Gears of War down another place to number three. Activision may also be happy with Guitar Hero's performance, with both full games and the demo charting at number four, six and eight.

In related news, Call of Duty developers Infinity Ward have posted news of an update for the Xbox 360 version on their official forums. While there is no release date set for the update, they promise the following features:

Additions / New Features:
  • Added Kill cam to Airstrike bombs and Claymores
  • Addition of Host Migration so if Host Leaves auto-chooses next best host
  • Added unlimited sprint, increased magazine size and added ragdoll cam in Oldschool mode
  • Addition of new "N0M4D" control scheme
Optimizations / Tweaks:
  • Identify party by background color (in Lobby)
  • Optimized server selection for first match for better connections
  • Improved network performance for 18 player games
  • Optimized 'Chase Cam' when Spectating
  • Fixed Playlist error when attempting to join from other games
  • Handle Corrupt Create A Class data instead of kicking player

Should be number 1. **** all over Halo 3 in almost every possible aspect. The only thing Halo has going for it is being able to keep parties together easier. Oh, and searching for a good connection.
