One million units of Xbox software sold in Australia
Xbox News | 2,000 units a day since launch. Apparently, that makes the Xbox more popular than The Wiggles.
Xbox Australia announced this morning that they have sold 1,000,000 units of software since the machine's launch last March. That equates to around 2,000 units a day, which is more popular than other entertainment icons in Australia, such as the singing budgie Kylie Minogue, and popular childrens group The Wiggles.
Commenting on the milestone, Alan Bowman, Xbox General Manager for Asia Pacific said, "It is an amazing achievement to have sold over a million Xbox games in just over a year. It certainly goes to show that nothing brings people together like Xbox."
The Xbox installed base in Australia is now close to 300,000 and expected to grow further with the release of Xbox Live, Microsoft's online gaming service, and big holiday titles such as Project Gotham Racing 2, Crimson Skies and Top Spin Tennis.
