Rugby League 2 headed to Xbox

Xbox News | Only seven months late.
Australian distributor HES announced yesterday that they will be bringing Rugby League 2 to the Xbox via their Tru Blu Games publishing arm, some seven months after its release on the PlayStation 2 and PC. It was always somewhat baffling that the game did not see immediate release on Microsoft's console, given the close relationship between the company and the NRL and the fact that the original game was one of the most successful titles on the system in Australia.

Luckily, Sidhe Interactive have added a bunch of new features to the Xbox version of the game to justify the lengthy wait. These new features include online play over Xbox Live with rankings and statistics, updated teams, sponsors and uniforms for the 2006 season, 'live' on-screen statistical data for players to enhance the TV-style presentation and widescreen support. For those that like superfluous additions to the game, New Zealand will now perform the Haka prior to a test match.

With an ever dwindling new release line-up, Xbox fans should be happy to see Rugby League 2 when it hits shelves on July 13th. In the meantime, you can read PALGN's full review of the PlayStation 2 version of Rugby League 2.

Was announced awhile ago.

Didn't know of the features though. I might actually pick it up for them alone.
