Eidos renames Conflict: Global Terror in PAL territories

Xbox News | Recent events force rethink.
It's been announced that forthcoming shoot-me-do Conflict: Global Terror is to be renamed in all PAL territories, in light of the recent terrorist attacks in London. Eidos, which is set to publish the game in Europe and Australia, has confirmed that the new title will be the far less scary - though still tremble-worthy - Conflict: Global Storm. And after the likes of America's 10 Most Wanted, it's nice to see a little sensitivity seeping forth from the games industry.

Oddly enough however, the North American version of the game will be retaining its 'Global Terror' suffix. Still, the actual content of the game, which will obviously be the same for all versions, is looking like it'll steer clear of anything that could possibly be interpreted as mirroring events in the real World.

In the title, the player plays as a squad of elite special forces agents, the same agents featured in previous entries in the Conflict series. This time, however, the squad will not be fighting a war, but have been instructed to locate and destroy a Neo-Nazi organization with the potential to throw the world into a third World War and yadda yadda yadda blah blah blah. The likes of Colombia and South Korea provide the backdrops to the action.

Conflict: Global Storm will be appearing on the PlayStation 2, Xbox and PC on September 30th in all PAL regions.
