Worldwide Halo 2 Xbox Live Tournament

Xbox News | Think you're pretty good at Halo 2? Well now's the time to prove it.
Microsoft has announced that they are hosting a Halo 2 tournament through Xbox Live. This will be the first time Microsoft has handled a worldwide tournament.

To get into 'The Battle to Save the Earth Halo 2 tournament' you will have to compete in the Xbox Live regionals. This begins on May 2, 2005. The final rounds will be played in June and the winners will be announced following them. The matches will be played out in special Rumble Pit Slayer matches. People 18 years and older can register at www.GameStopStores.com, Who are the co-sponsors for this tournament.

Through local and regional competitions Microsoft is in the process of finding the regional and local champions for each country. Dean Loaney has already been crowned as our Aussie Champ. These people will have an automatic entry into the final round in June. At this time they will then battle there skills over Xbox Live from there own countries (got to love the Internet). The result will determine the Xbox Live Halo 2 World Champion.

The grand winner will receive:
- A Samsung Flat Screen DLP HDTV
- Samsung DVD Player/Recorder
- A personalized Xbox Live Halo 2 World Champion trophy that is made out of 24k gold halo2 game disc!
- Along with $1,500 in cash.
There are also lots of prizes for the regional winners.

Time to start practicing guys!
