Rare delays Kameo: Elements of Power

Xbox News | $375 million is suddenly looking even more expensive, Microsoft...
Originally slated for a debut in January 2005, Rare’s upcoming Adventure game for the Xbox, Kameo: Elements of Power, has been delayed indefinitely. In an agreement from both the developer and publisher, the game will be halted in it’s release in order to ‘incorporate several changes and new features’.

The full transcript from Rare’s website can be found below:

“Here's one you didn't see coming! After a lot of thought and discussion, Rare and Microsoft Game Studios have decided to push back the launch of Kameo: Elements of Power in order to incorporate several changes and new features (some minor, some not so minor).

We realise this is frustrating in the short term to all those of you avidly following the game's progress and itching to bust some Troll heads, and we can only apologise for keeping you in suspense, but rest assured that every last one of these new developments is designed to enhance and expand the overall experience. We want this to be the best game possible, so like any delays we may have instigated in the past (surely not) we have every confidence that this one will ultimately work out for the best. Stay tuned for further updates.”

Further details regarding the gameplay enhancements and release information have yet to be announced. PALGN will have more details on Kameo: Elements of Power when available.

You just can't rush a good Rare game. You'll have it when it's ready. icon_lol.gif

(Of course, whether this'll be good or not remains to be seen...)

lol I still have the picture of it on my GC box.

Hopefully it'll turn out good.

Well Starfox wasn't so good, and neither was Grabbed according to a lot of reviews I've seen. For Microseft's sake I hope this game redeems both - it was looking very promising even when it was first displayed on the Gamecube (and Kameo had far less sex appeal, funny that... <_<)

Xbox 2 must not be too far off if both BC and Kameo have been delayed for similar sounding reasons. Kameo never really interested me though and I don't hold Rare in too high regard these days.

I hope Kameo is good. But I don't have high hopes.

I hope they rerelease Donkey Kong Country 3. DKC2 was excellent on the GBA (though it is arguably the best in the series). Maybe afterward they will port all three of the Land games in a compilation.
