Project: Snowblind Officially Announced

Xbox News | Eidos officially announces the development of the first-person action shooter Project: Snowblind. First trailer and screenshots revealed.
Currently in development at Crystal Dynamics, Project: Snowblind puts players in the role of an elite super soldier, fighting on the front lines of a near-future war using unique weapons, abilities and high-tech gadgetry that inject depth and variety to gameplay. The game places unique emphasis on intensive multiplayer and online play modes.

John Chowanec, producer for Project: Snowblind at Crystal Dynamics said: 'Project: Snowblind makes dynamic usage of high tech gadgetry and futuristic weapons in combat situations. This, combined with 16-player online action, will no doubt bring about a frenetic gameplay experience that gamers will want to experience. Project: Snowblind is the answer for those longing for a non-stop, action-packed ride.'

Project: Snowblind is set in a near-future Hong Kong in 2065. 2nd Lt. Nathan Frost is just a regular grunt until he volunteers for a super-soldier transformation for an international army called the Liberty Coalition. A painful series of surgeries gives Frost extra-normal abilities via implanted enhancements, which place him on the frontlines of a war against a destructive regime. After a military coup leaves him stranded in hostile territory and cut off from command with only a handful of men, Frost must stop the militia's secret weapon that threatens to plunge the world into darkness.

Intense epic battles await gamers when they delve into the world of Project: Snowblind. Players will be able to employ different bio-enhancements to augment their character's attributes and physical abilities in a multitude of ways. This will allow players to change gameplay dynamics constantly.

Project: Snowblind seeks to reinvigorate the FPS genre with the inclusion of weapons and gadgets never seen before in the genre. Players will have access to a wide array of weapons, demolition gear, and high tech gadgetry throughout the game.
All primary weapons will have secondary fire options, allowing the weapon to perform dual tasks. High tech gadgets play an integral role in your character's survival in the title, and PALGN has been assured that the gadgets and tools on offer in the singleplayer missions take on a whole new dimension when used in the online multiplayer game.

Project: Snowblind will feature online multiplayer capabilities featuring voice over IP support and classic FPS multiplayer modes such as deathmatch capture the flag, etc. Mission types found in Project: Snowblind blend the chaos and frenzy of the battlefield in suppression style missions with abundant freedom of choice in approaching problem solving in infiltration style missions.

Project: Snowblind will be available for the Xbox, PlayStation 2 and the PC. PALGN will have more on this intriguing title as soon as it comes available. In the meantime, check out the first trailer (below) and our media panel for the first screenshots of the game in action.

" Eidos officially announces the development of the first-person action shooter Project: Snowblind. First trailer and screenshots revealed."

How is that misleading? The blurb is there for a reason icon_lol.gif

The game reminds me of Deus Ex and Halo a little. Sounds little a promising title though.

And yes this game has been talked about before, but under several different names. Deus Ex 3, Snowblind and now Project: Snowblind. I think the Deus Ex 3 was just expectation though.

AS much as I hate to say it, it does look pretty good, even taking into account my feelings about Crystal Dynamics. icon_lol.gif

Every once and a while they do a good job.
