Eidos Publishing Star Wars Lego Title

Xbox News | Eidos Secures Distribution Rights for Lego Star Wars Game
Eidos announced today that it has secured the distribution rights to LEGO Star Wars with Giant Interactive Entertainment Ltd for all countries except Japan.

Lego Star Wars combines two childhood favourites, LEGO and Star Wars, to create an innovative and exciting action/adventure title that will allow gamers to relive all of the adventures of the most memorable and exciting scenes from the prequel eras of the Star Wars Universe.

From lightsaber duels to frantic space combat, the action, the characters and vehicles from Episodes I, II and III will be playable in a new LEGO way. The game will allow two-player ‘Drop-in/Drop-out’ co-operative and the unique LEGO ‘Free Play’ mode, which will allow gamers to take both light side and dark side characters into unique situations. The game also gives players the opportunity to build, move, and transform LEGO objects through the use of the Force.

Under an agreement between LucasArts and Giant Interactive Ltd, Traveller’s Tales is currently developing LEGO Star Wars for the PlayStation2, Xbox and PC. Whilst Amaze Entertainment is developing the Game Boy Advance version.

The game will be released in conjunction with an exciting new range of LEGO play materials in April 2005, prior to the much-anticipated May 19th release date of the Star Wars Episode III movie.
