Halo 2 release date confirmed for Europe

Xbox News | And it's NOT November 9th.
Microsoft confirmed in a statement released this morning the final, final, final, absolutely definite European release date for Halo 2. And oddly enough, it isn't November 9th as widely anticipated. But the good news is that you won't be waiting much longer than NTSC markets for Bungie Studios' potential masterpiece - the game will be on European shelves on Thursday 11th November.

Except that is, if you live in either France, Switzerland or Belgium, who are set to get the game a whole day earlier on the 10th, due to the 11th being a bank holiday. 125 days and counting then...

XBox exclusive for now, though a PC version will surely follow, probably in 2005.

Wow, that would put Australia about a day after the American release due to timezones.

Gah. I'm stuck. Do I save money from my birthday (July 29th everyone, remember it. icon_razz.gif) or do I get it for Christmas..

^^ You do what every sane human being does and queue overnight in a sleeping bag to get one of the very first copies.

personally i'd save the money so you can get the Special Edition... but then i don't know what is in the SE, or indeed how special it really is... might turn out to be special in the way retarded people are "special"...

i also don't have an XBox, so i wouldn't be saving for it anyway...

Is it too late to pre-order the SE version of the game?

i dunno, from what i've read, if you pre-order H2, you are automatically getting the SE... ring your local games store (or EB, if its an EB exclusive) and ask them...

looking at Gamehead, you can pre-order standard Halo 2 or SE Halo 2 for $2.50 more...

the eb website has a shot of the SE slick, pretty snazzy

That box sure looks nice. icon_biggrin.gif And why would you want the normal version when for an extra $2.50 you get so much more. Obviously once the SE version runs out I guess.

Wow. After seeing that, I suppose I will pre-order. icon_eek.gif

Thank god I bought an X Box. I saw a trailer of this on my E3 dvd and it looks stunning (as I had heard).

The Box looks great aswell and I can't wait till it comes out.
