Lionhead have announced a release date for when PAL gamers can expect to see ambitious XBox-exclusive title Fable. Well OK, it's more a 'release month', but at least it's considerably more concrete than anything we've heard yet. Anyway, a statement released yesterday on the FAQs section of Lionhead's official site confirmed: 'Fable will be out in September 2004 in all NTSC (USA) territories and in October 2004 for PAL (Europe) territories.'
Because we're stubborn buggers to please, the fact that the game now potentially faces the prospect of being drowned in the ocean of mediocre pre-Christmas releases does irk us, if only because we'd hate to see a title of such obvious promise overlooked. But hey - it's the first time Lionhead have committed themselves to a date, so we're happy to settle for that.
Certainly, the recent showing of the game at E3 intrigued and impressed in equal measure, and Lionhead's satellite studio Big Blue Box, who are developing the game with input from Black & White creator Peter Molyneux, look to have a potential jewel prepared for us. In just four months, we'll know for sure.
