I love the first one and hopefully this will improve the things that were lacking in No.1.
So far I'm loving the new "Garage" look;

But looking at this screen, could we be racing on wet, night time only tracks again? icon_confused.gif I hope not.

Oh. My. God. icon_eek.gif

I am so buying this, no matter what.

Coolies, I'm looking forward to this. The first one was highly enjoyable, EA or not!

given the nature of illegal street racing, i don't think it's surprising that the racing happens at night...

mind you , there are legally sanctioned DragWar/DragCombat/Drift Wars around the place held in daylight hours so who knows?

bring it on
I don't know if any of you know this, but Hyper magazine had an interview with one of the dudes behind the game, and the game will only feature night time races. This is due to the fact that most illegal races are indeed held at night. Although, I reckon at least Drift mode should be in the day time...
The guy also said that there will be Sunrise/Sunset races.

Anyway, I am definately looking forward to this game, as NFSU was a brilliant racing title, although hardly anyone else though so. icon_neutral.gif
And I agree with Civ, the new "garage" look is much better. icon_smile.gif

my only issue with NFSU was the music... i'm not a hip-hop/nu-metal person...

Rob Zombie was a nice inclusion though...

Mmm... I question the point of car audio set ups in a game, but eh. I still haven't played the first one. icon_sad.gif Odd, considering the racing kinda guy I am.
probably a money grabbing thing... some car audio company said would you like some money, they said yes please...

this is pure conjecture btw

it would be funny if the music quality was affected though...

No, it isnt really a surprise it happens at night, down here where i am living, they complain about it something shocking, BUT wont give us anywhere to go so we arent using the streets ad endangering others' lives!
if we had somewhere to go, i can GUARANTEE that if there was a purpose built track, then they wouldnt have to worry, dont u think? icon_smile.gif

yeah you make a point but you're a dumbarse...

every city in australia has a drag course, and for most of the year they are open to the public (provided your car is safe, ie good tyres, no **** up panels, good brakes and roll cage may be needed if over a certain HP)

hell in WA they are purpose building 2 drift courses, which should be finished very soon, in fact all that remains on one is for the tarmac to mature, and barbagallos is open to the public every so often...

you're just a dumb **** who won't actually look to where legal racing is allowed...

i bet you buy all the wanky mods that have extra features that are amusing for a week, but serve no real purpose...

Why use insults?

Not true. Canberra is a city in Australia and it hasn't had a drag course for a good length of time. Yes we're getting one now but that's not the point, the point is that when you stated this comment it wasn't entirely true.
As for the rest of the states around this country, not everywhere has a track or dragstrip or whatever set up for the general public to use for their fun in their cars. Yes some states do have places but you'll find that most of Australia doesn't actually have a specific place for it.
Hence why you still get illegal street racing and whatever else on the civilian streets. Plus even if every single state in Australia did have a specific area where it was legal, you would still get those people who would do it on the roads.

Don't insult someone else because of their comments as it's not warranted.
And don't state something you don't know the truth about. icon_razz.gif

ok so canberra doesn't, i wasn't aware of this...

i am a member of a legal car club who cop a lot of flack for dumb-arses who participate in illegal races... and through this club i had been told that every (capital) city in australia has a drag course that does have public nights... admittedly i don't know anyone in Canberra that i can recall...

i insult anyone who participates in illegal car activity of any kind and hold no patience towards them... it gives the rest of us a bad name...

Sorry, I must have missed the part where she said she was from Australia. icon_rolleyes.gif

ObsoletE, that was not necessisary. If the person has not got the same information that you have, that does not make them stupid.

Well you're aware of it now. I'm sorry if you think I was being mean towards you or whatever but I just had to show you that your comment was wrong.
And it's not just Canberra that doesn't have stuff so whoever told you that every capital city had a drag course was wrong.
To my knowledge, Tasmania has absolute zilch for the car enthusiasts to do so they also rely on the streets (illegally) for their fun. Sydney has it for sure with Eastern Creek (and even Oran Park) and Melbourne have had the drag tracks for the general public for ages.
As for your insults, so if every forumer here at Palgn was to participate in an illegal car event of some sort, would you insult each and every one of us?
I can understand that people stereotype due to what people do illegally but it still doesn't give you the right to call someone a "dumb ****" on a forum that is meant for discussion. You can call them what you want in your head, but make it viewable to public and face the consequences. I'm sure I'm right in saying that if it happens again then you'll be banned or given a warning.

Note to mods: as you can read, I didn't use the C word offensively and was only using it as a quote. Sorry if I did break the rules...

yes i would... my reasoning is simple, a good friend of mine was killed by an illegal event, he was not participating, just was driving in the wrong place at the wrong time when some dickhead slammed into him, good thing he (the other driver) was killed too, else i'd probably be in jail....

as for not being in Australia, sorry but i assumed he/she/it was, probably cos i am, if not then you're still a dickhead regardless of where you are for illegally dragging... go on a cruise or something rather than "endangering others' lives!"

as for tasmania, they have one of the premier street races in the country, heard of the Targa Tasmania? well, aside from the signiture event, they hold clubman events every month or so (or at least used to... unsure of current standings of this)

i also fully expected the board to censor the c-word...

Okay in that respect I can understand that you dislike people who break the law by illegally racing on civilian roads due to your friend's death. I also hate the fact that people do it but the fact is that we can't stop it from happening. And I was just using us forumers as an example to see if you would insult us. It's our mistake that we're making (if we were to do it) and it would be us that would have to bear the fact that we killed an innocent life due to us breaking the law. I still don't think it's fair that you insulted someone you don't even know. But anyway.
As for Targa, of course I know about Targa and I was actually going to mention it earlier.
This event only happens annually and does indeed give locals the chance to have some fun behind the wheel on streets. But it's only annually isn't it. For some people it wouldn't be enough to satisfy their needs so they would still end up doing it on the streets illegally.
As for those clubman meets, yes they do hold them but they're still not allowed to exceed the speed limit are they? No. So if they were to do so, it would be illegal.

You expected the forums to automatically filter out the C word? Well if you ask me, you shouldn't have had the intention to use the word in the first place...
well, every other swear word is censored/filtered (as far as i know) so assumed this would be too... and imo the circumstances definately justified its use... i am not an easily offended person and use the word in day-to-day speaking so... yeah.... i'm not going to apologise for offending anyone else...

i know we can't stop it happening full stop, even with facilities available, but i can keep abusing people who participate cos it makes me feel better and hopefully shames the others...

with the clubman events, i thought these were similar in that you can whatever speed you like as the roads are closed to public driving for the event... thats the way they operate in the west... otherwise whats the point? it's just a car cruise...
If you so wish to insult those who take place in such illegal activities, you only fuel their hatred of the authority that wishes to stop them. You may feel better, but have you done the right thing?
I wouldn't really care if there were no drag courses on the face of the planet, it's totally a moot point, having no course doesn't give anyone the right to illegally race on the roads, endanger other people, and give others bad reputations.
However, I don't agree with the excessive use of swearwords (filtered or unfiltered), or the amount of assumptions and random insults made. Without resorting to them, I think ObsoletE could still have easily expressed his anger at people participating in such events, reasoned it out, and posted his unfortunate story about his friend (sorry to hear that, btw), and got a lot of support, because I'm sure the principle is right. I don't think to do so would be in any way against board regulations either.

Anyway, this sort of spiralled off-topic...
