E3 2004: Thief 3

Xbox News | Thief finally makes the transfer console side after a long absence from the PC.
Taking on the role of Garrett again, you must now put your sneaky skills to stop an ancient evil you've accidently woke up to stop a new Dark Age. Using advanced graphics technology seen in Deus Ex 2 on the PC, Thief 3 will be the best looking Thief game yet. This will allow the player to utilize the darkness to avoid his enemies. Thief 3 will also use a 3rd person view as well as the classic 1st person view.

Other features also include:

Cutting-edge stealth - Hide in the shadows, sneak past guards, or ambush them from the darkness.

Action gameplay - Breaking and entering, stealing, sabotage, evasion, espionage, combat, assassination, and setting up ambushes.

Huge Arsenal of Thieves' Tools - Including lock picks, a blackjack, arrows with numerous purposes, wall climbing gloves, oil flasks, flash bombs, and a dagger.

Advanced Artificial Intelligence - AI guards that see and hear, track evidence and suspiciousness, search for intruders, fight, give chase, and perform lip synching, facial expressions, and hundreds of lines of real-time dialog.

Eidos have set a possible June 2004 release date, although for old Thief fans, this can't come sooner.
