E3 2004: Vivendi Announces Predator: Concrete Jungle

Xbox News | PS2 & Xbox gamers will finally be able to take the role of the Predator in this upcoming 3rd person action/adventure video-game.
Vivendi Universal Games today announced that Predator: Concrete Jungle is currently under a heavy development phrase by the people at Eurocom Entertainment, who are currently working on a world-wide release of the game on both the Sony Playstation 2 and Microsoft Xbox home consoles by the end of the year.

Some people will be familiar with the Predator license, made so popular by Arnold Schwarzenegger, with it being a dominating franchise for the past two decades, with both Predator movies generating an income of $200M worldwide and the Aliens vs. Predator video-game selling over 800K units in North America alone.

It has been mentioned that the past will interact with the future as gamers take control of the dismaying Predator, hunting out criminals using supernatural powers, bird-eye vision and armed with a wide array of alien weaponry and devices. "Built on the legacy of the fearsome film franchise, Predator: Concrete Jungle features a thrilling story that showcases quality gameplay with the signature abilities and weapons of the Predator in new futuristic settings," said Michael Pole, EVP of Worldwide Studios, Vivendi Universal Games.

Gamers will be presented with an epic tale of the formidable Alien’s history on Earth as the story unfolds in to a dichotomize tale of two separate time periods, 1930’s and 2030’s. After the 100-year ban from the Earth by his elders, the brutal Predator returns to Earth seeking revenge on the organized crime empire that have tried to seek out and vanquish the Predator.

the only thing that worries me now is the "origins of Weyland-Yutani"... you just know they're gonna **** it up royally...

especially since the Weyland character is in the AVP movie... and that seems to explain the origins and motivations of WY
