Rez HD "only a few weeks away"

360 News | Game will be available for 800 points.
We've received an email from Q Entertainment today who has informed us that Rez HD is "only a few weeks away" from release on the Xbox Live Arcade.

The other good news is the fact that the game will be available for only 800 Microsoft points. "Only a few weeks away" could mean that Rez HD will be available in a fortnight, we'll keep you updated as soon as Q Entertainment lets us know more.

Rez HD isn't just a HD upgrade of the original Rez, the game includes new sound and visual effects, some of the new sounds include cave, forest, underwater, hall and plate and some of the new visual effects include sepia, tile, blur, bloom and glare. The game will include a full suite of leaderboards and there will be an option for all controllers to receive vibration from the game, so not just the player will feel the vibration.

Rez HD is one title I'll gladly spend 800 points on, now if only they released a Trance Vibrator attachment for the 360 icon_lol.gif

Close enough. I'm surprised that they actually did that.

Sitting on a controller just doesn't have the same appeal.

This is such a tempting proposition. I still play REZ frequently and would love to play variations on the theme!

I'm keen to get my hands on this, the videos getting about make it look pretty swish and... well... I've never played Rez. More or less addictive than Lumines, would you say (not to suggest that they're similar games, just that Lumines held my attention for a good period on the PSP) ?

I thought you'd be the one to enjoy sitting on a joystick.

Even then, it'd be twice the fun on your 360 controller. icon_razz.gif

Rez is a special obsession.
I have both the Dreamcast and PS2 versions.
I have the soundtrack on CD and vinyl.
I have played it in varying states of mind in honour of Miziguchi's descriptor "Midnight high shooting". Some of the modes only make sense when...

Its not an endless puzzle game like Lumines, but the way it makes you feel is the same. You are rewarded by solid play with bright colours, soul penetrating sounds and in my case a gigantic beanbag that reverberates thanks to said peripheral tucked beneath a cushion.

The more solidly you play the more Rez amps up the difficulty. It was a proud moment when I finished Level 1 with a 100% everything rating. And there lies the crux. Rez only takes about an hour to play through. Going back rewards you with further color schemes and sounds. If you're happy to refine and replay and immerse yourself in a new coat of candy light enamel then you may well get hooked.

Whichever way you look at it though 800 points is a steal.

Noted, and filed under 'To Do'.

Sounds like a good'un, will have to stock up my points before it hits the marketplace.

800 points! I was so sure they'd go the full 1200. This is fantastic news. I'm also really liking what I'm hearing about the added content. The wait is becoming unbearable. Rez in HD and 5.1... oooh man.

Awesome, never had a chance to try this game and for 800 points I really can't go past it.

Rez has to be my #1 favourite spiritual/shmup/rythm combo game with bolt on knob massager of all time!

I'm with döppelganger in that I can get really sucked into this game and playing the PS2 / DC versions also have subtle differences in timing presentation & resolution that makes both copies (whilst a little pricey) worth owning.

Alas this version is not for me as Ive a PC, PS3 & Wii and Im not getting another console now. Thus I pray it comes to PS3.

Or, using human language, the USB-powered Trance Vibrator? icon_razz.gif

They better include support for the PS2 Trance Vibrator in this version, or heads will roll...

I clearly was implying a seedy innuendo. icon_confused.gif

For the ones who want some extra vibrator action.

I'll sure as hell be doing that, great massage for the head. My head, on my neck I mean.

Sick f**ks.

Doh! ... Bolt-on... sorry I get it now.
Hey, a "strap on" model would get my wife & mistress into the game!

Ummm ....my wife doesn't read my posts does she? ...cause I was only kidding about the make believe mistress. What's for dinner BTW?
