As it's namesake painfully suggests, The Fast & The Furriest will apparently bring together Rare's stable of "mascot" characters for a few rounds of party styled sports mini-games--sounding not unlike the recent Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games for Wii. Featuring the likes of a 100 metre dash, hurdles, and curling--with contents packs further promising bowling, volleyball, fishing, and various target games--the most intriguing feature leaked to Xbox 360 Fanboy is the promise that a near majority of the game's activities will be controllable via the Xbox Live Vision Camera. Not only that, but players will also be able to superimpose their photographic facial avatar of choice into Rare's cast of character "suits". Furries rejoice.
Cost and a release date were not revealed by Xbox 360 Fanboy's "super secret insider", but it wouldn't be out of the question to expect this title to hit sometime in 2008. Rare's last in-house game, Viva PiƱata, was released at the tail-end of 2006, receiving sleeper hit acclaim and likewise, minimal impact in sales. Whether The Fast & The Furriest ends up heralding a series of further cost-effective Xbox Live Arcade titles from the house that the Spectrum built remains to be seen.
