Bungie weekly update

360 News | New DLC on the way, plus Bungie guys check out community-made maps.
The latest Bungie weekly update bears news that they're playtesting the next round of maps for Halo 3. The release date for the next bunch of DLC isn't mentioned.

The update also mentions that Bungie is working on 'more fully custom built maps', and that we can expect the following:
  • 'Symmetrical arena maps for competitive play.
  • Returning classics demanded by the fans.
  • Crazy new stuff you never expected.
  • Unusual maps with lots of potential for interesting game types.
  • Graphically spectacular settings.
  • More Forge objects to use on new maps.
  • Surprises.'
Bungie also talk about the work that the community has been releasing by way of Halo 3's map editor, Forge, which allows players to modify the maps. Bungie staff seem impressed with the output, especially the more original stuff.

Also covered is a new gametype, titled Grifball, that the Red Vs Blue guys invented by accident, and some hints for using Forge.

Hmmm I wonder what that means...

I'd personally like to see a playlist for community popular forge games. Popular in the sense of how Zombies in Halo 2 was a popular community custom game.

That and some more armor perms would be cool.

I'd like to see a map creator similar to the one in farcry, just in a better game.

They better not charge for these things, because if they do it sounds so good I will HAVE to buy it (unlike maps that I can wait for)
