Burnout Paradise demo released

360 News | Take a drive to Paradise.
As promised last week, a demo for Burnout Paradise is now up on the Xbox Live Marketplace, with the PlayStation Network demo expected later in the day.

The Xbox 360 demo comes in at 853MB and is exclusive to gold users for a little while. The demo lets players cruise around Paradise City exploring Motor City, Big Surf Beach and Ocean View. If you've downloaded the demo, why not let us know what you think about it in the forums?

Well so far it's downloading on mine but the network isn't handling it so well at the moment. Keeps giving error messages.

Downloading now, I'll download the PS3 one too for comparison once it is available.

Well the Ps3 version is up now, not sure when it went up but it was between 3:30 and 7:00am.

Had good fun just freeroaming around last night in it, but was disappointed at the lack of any crash mode events in the demo.

Graphics were nice, and while the Crash FM DJ did offer some humourous moments, and handy tips, he did get a little repetitive after a while. I'm also going to assume that there was no background music due to licensing reasons, as the game seemed a little vacant with no music.

The crashes really felt powerful, with slow motion, image filters and camera angles used to make sure the player sees the impact in all its glory.

It's called showtime now, I think at any stage you can press a couple of buttons and activate crash/showtime mode.

After playing both the 360 and PS3 version Picture-In-Picture alongside each other, I definetely see what the previews were talking about. The 360 version just doesn't look "right" when you see it next to the PS3 one, although by itself it still looks like a great game. Hopefully Criterion get it up to scratch with the PS3 version by next month.

Well that's probably the best news I've heard about comparisons lol, a PS3 multi-platform game looking better than its 360 version? I mean since I'm a PS3 owner, I'm glad lol, they have gotten all the best games "better" than the PS3 versions, skate., assassin's creed, the orange box (definately)...
Can't wait to try the demo...

Well, it makes sense, the game is being made on the PS3 and ported to the 360, so of course the PS3 version will have the upper hand.

After playing the demo online this morning this is definitely a must buy for me now. It was a lot of fun going online and just have a free-for-all against 3 other players.

I downloaded it, sat down to play it, listened to the guy yap on about this and that, and then - batteries went flat... and I could find any in the house. Damn you Burnout.

I assume that means you have a wireless 360 controller?

I quite like it with my Dual Shock 3. It's so nice to have rumble again.

Yes Burnout is the kind of racing IMO. I look forward to this game.

Well the game went gold a few weeks back but I have no idea about weather the demo was built after that or if it was of an earlier build.

360 version is awesome. No complaints from me. Havent had the PS3 version to compare it to, guess thats a good thing, means im not disappointed in the 360 version.

How is the 360 version lacking against the PS3 version btw?

^ Looks to me like the usual case of things being a little sharper (but jaggier) and colours being a bit more vibrant on the 360, where things are smoother and more balanced on the PS3. Par for course.

Hard to make a proper judgment without comparing them both in motion though.

I really dont like how you have to drive back to the start of a race to try again. Im still not sold on the whole large city thing, I really really LOVE burnout in all its iterations so Im giving this baby some time.

Also grabbed both versions. The PS3 actually has the upper hand for once, slightly. Which is AWESOME for the PS3. Seems developers are starting to get a hold of the PS3 finally.
