Halo 3 sells five million

360 News | Now that is an attach rate.

Speaking to Gamedaily Corporate Vice President of Global Marketing for the Xbox 360 Jeff Bell has confirmed that Halo 3 has sold five million copies.

When speaking about the sales of the Xbox 360 in the past few weeks Bell commented that "We've (Microsoft) also seen a strong response to both Halo 3 sales with more than 5 million, and Mass Effect which has sold more than a million copies in less than three weeks." Halo 3 was released in September and went on to set digital entertainment records, which is good because we didn't think it was half bad.

The fact that the attach rate for Halo 3 is near enough to 33% is mind blowing. I can't imagine any game has ever had that good of an attach rate before. Well.. not counting that amazing 1:1 Super Mario Bros. attach rate

because Halo is far to over hyped and it's really the only franchise on the xbox plarform. That people the world over know about. It's just another FPS in my opinion nothing special. Im hoping GTA IV can out sell Halo 3 now there is a game with a lot more credibility.

hahah i would love to see some figures when GTA4 comes out and which console sells the most. I am betting on the 360 because of bonus content and the fact that multiplatforms have sucked on the ps3 "IMO". On Topic here congrats Halo 3 it really is a good game

Don't try to push your malformed opinions on everyone, especially in a thread created to honour Halo's achievements. You have a problem with Halo you want to express? I'm going to offer up my neck and agree, don't get me wrong it's good (for a console fps at least) it's just not great. There's almost no story, no real thaught required, no skill required either since the playerbase consists mainly of 13 year old foaming at the mouth fanboys who can't accept they suck balls when you beat em all on your first try, no new concepts and generally it just feels really sluggish (slow gameplay not fps).

All you halo haters and all your halo lovers, all you're doing is getting sucked into the hype which is exactly what the Microsoft marketers want. Anytime someone attacks a game, someone out there feels like they have to defend it. If Halo haters really wanted the game to do badly then they would be quiet about it.

All I am seeing is in this thread is people seemingly jealous over the success of the Halo games because it's on the wrong platform. I ponder, if Halo was on the Sony console, I wonder if it would recieve half the panning it is getting?

Played it and dont' like it.

Haven't played it but what the hell I'm writing it off because it's an Xbox game.

Anyway back to the point at hand, I'm very excited Mass Effect sold very well. I look forward to the sequels!!! My biggest fear was this game bombing and leaving that incredible universe left in limbo.

Saying Halo 3 is the only franchise on 360 is like saying some completely ridiculous thing, like the claim the Halo is the only franachise on the 360. Um.

Seriously, out of my games library (about a dozen discs and half a dozen arcade), I wouldn't even rate Halo 3 in the top 5 - not because it doesn't rock, because it does, but because there are som many other awesome games. But when I want to have friends over, Halo 3 has 4-player offline, and that just kicks ass. It's awesome fun.

Any attepmt to call it anything less amounts to little more than a bout of tall poppy syndrome.

Hahaha, I love how defending your favourite corporation has become just like supporting your football team.

I'm honestly not surprised that Halo 3 has sold so well, it's an incredible game.
