More GTA IV shots, trailer released tomorrow

360 News | You know you want to look.
New shots of one of the most anticipated game of next year, Grand Theft Auto IV, have hit the internet. The shots have been taken from the game's new trailer.

It's the latest in a flurry of activity for the game in the past few weeks, with the official confirmation of the special edition and price yesterday, and the update of the official website last week, which included the staggering unveiling of the box art, and the somewhat more interesting announcement of a new trailer, titled "Move up, Ladies". The trailer will go live at 3pm EST in North America, meaning stupidly early here in Australia.

Until then, the new screenshots below in the media panel should tide you over. More news on GTA IV as we get it.

Thanks to mipac for passing this along.

What an odd mix of screenshots - some of them look horrible, some of them look fantastic. The shot of the building at night being lit with different coloured lights, for example, and the last shot... awesome! Shots 1 and 8 though... why release them?

The submachine gun doesnt even have a texture xD

It's certainly not going to win any awards for graphics, it looks hideous. Although the GTA series was never big on quality visuals so I guess it's to be expected.

So long as they allow you to continue running around wreaking havoc with no regard for story or anything like that I'll get it, that's all I've ever enjoyed in the GTA games anyway.

Lol, seems like it. Some are not great but a few are very nice.

If each pixel of bloom caused as much damage as a mosquito bite, those pics would kill. WAY too much bloom icon_sad.gif, and I hate so much as subtle bloom icon_sad.gif.

Seriously, I know I always say this, but this game looks dull as.

no, i think that of this too.

i mean, sure, it doesn't have the best graphics ever, but i can't think of any open-form game that does look better than a linear trench game. if that's the look they're going for, and it's a game the size of any of the GTA3 generation, then i'll be VERY happy.

I believe that I also used the word fantastic... in the first post. icon_razz.gif
The game is looking pretty bloody good, and some of those lighting effects are simply lovely (or appear that way in screen form) - just that one or two of those shots are stand-out ugly.

Agreed, both graphically and gameplay wise. IMO it's another case of realism being inversely proportional to awesomeness (more real = more boring).

It looks good enough. It has never been about the textures, lighting and pixels with GTA; it's about the music, violence, chaos and car-jacking. Oh and the story's are always entertaining.

i think the game looks great looking forward to a brand new trailer

Considering it's a GTA game visually it's quite fantastic but other wise quite avergae compared to others, that said visuals where always going to take a hit this gen on this series simply due to disc speed limitations.

Billboards! Huzzah! Stunting better be left intact in this version, hope the new engine doesn't balls it all up...

I'm with Karai though, some of those shots look awful, but others look sweeeeet (heli one for example).

Pass GTA's haven't been visually the best, but these still look nice as.

Won't stop this being a fun game.

I'm not liking the trees in the park. Thats the shot I personally stopped at and stared for a while. Thank God they're taking their time to polish.

How can they fit this game on a 9G disc?

maybe that's what they're spending the extra time on? Really, I think that the screenshots are from different revisions of the game, as in the bar, Niko looks great, while in other shots, he seems a little on the glitchy and undetailed side, while all the helicopter shots to date seem awesome.

Looks fantastic in motion, but the framerate... icon_sad.gif
I really hope they reign in that lousy framerate, if not then they better put it out on PC so I can actually play it without crying bitter tears.

Agreed, I don't buy any GTA games unless they are on PC because only PCs can handle such open games in their full glory at higher than high def resolutions at full 60 fps, unfortunatly consoles struggle even with crippled graphics and low resolutions like 1280x720.

Disc speed counts for nothing except load times, the big hit is the lack of pixel pushing power and such a small ammount of ram which are especially problematic since they are supposed to run in HD.
