Splinter Cell Conviction delayed

360 News | New Sam Fisher adventure pushed back.
On the back of news that Ubisoft has delayed Haze on the PlayStation 3 and announced Tom Clancy's Rainbow 6: Vegas 2, IGN now reports that the French-based publisher has also delayed the release of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction.

As part of its fiscal first-half financial report, Ubisoft announced that it was rescheduling Splinter Cell Conviction for release in fiscal 2008-09, which starts in April 2008. No exact release date for the game was provided. The slip marks the second delay for the new Sam Fisher adventure, originally slated for release this Christmas.

Taking place after the events of Splinter Cell Double Agent, Conviction places Sam Fisher on the run from Third Echelon, the spymaster's previous employer. Ubisoft is promising to revolutionise the latest game in the acclaimed spy series by providing a completely different style of gameplay - one that is more akin to Assassin's Creed then previous installments in the spy franchise. Further, the fifth Splinter Cell title will only be available on the Xbox 360 and PC.

Stay tuned to PALGN for further information on the game's release date as it comes in. In the meantime, check out the media panel below for screenshots of Splinter Cell Conviction.

Personally I feel that the more time they give to ensure this is a great game is absolutely fine by me. I am patient enough to wait for this to arrive.

Afterall to even play the Splinter Cell games requires a lot of patience so I'm used to it icon_biggrin.gif

Yeah its always good to delay a game to ensure it will be good, if I had my own Game Development Studio the saying would be "It will done when it's done" much like the people that are creating Alan Wake.

it doesn't really bother me i won't be playing it because the game isn't coming to the PS3 which i think is ridiculous considering all the other Splinter Cell games have been on Playstation consoles why not this one. God damn you Ubi.
