Halo theme coming to Guitar Hero III

360 News | 360 exclusive obviously.
Microsoft, Neversoft, Bungie, Activision and RedOctane have announced via a press release that the iconic Halo theme will be available as a free playable song for Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock.

The song will be available tomorrow on the marketplace. The Halo theme was written, composed, and performed by Martin O’Donnell and Michael Salvatori; and the MJOLNIR Mix features guitars performed by Steve Vai.

“It’s a real pleasure to hear one of the best loved and most iconic themes from Bungie’s Halo Universe in Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock,” said Marty O’Donnell, Composer and Audio Director for Bungie Studios. “As longtime fans of the Guitar Hero franchise, it was great to collaborate with Neversoft and Activision/RedOctane to offer this exciting free download to our fans.”

would be awesome to play a Mario theme.

I read about this the other day and it's damn awesome! I can't wait to get rocking on that Steve Vai lead.

As for Nintendo tracks: given there is no downloadable content on the Wii don't hold your breathe! Their claims that 'it might happen in the future' is a lie to make people happy.

Needs Master Chief as a playable character.

As if MC could play a guitar. Those massive clunky armour plated fingers of his wouldn't be the best for hitting notes.

I've already played the Custom GH2 version on the PS2 icon_wink.gif

Can't say it was the most fun song out there, but it's good enough.

Anyone have a go of Frets on Fire yet, that could be promising.

the song is pretty tricky to play, it is a shame there's no MC character though.

Just got the GH3 soundtrack today from Amazon, comes with a code to unlock 3 more downloadable songs.

I think they have already got me hooked in. Originally I wasn't planning to get Guitar Hero III but now with all this extra content so early from its release I feel really compelled to go buy it. Much better than what GHII received...
