Activision reveals plans for GH III DLC

360 News | Warning: not good news.

Activision caused a bit of a ruckus early this year when the first downloadable content for Guitar Hero II was released. Rather than release each individual song, Activision bundled three songs together - this meant fans who wanted one song needed to fork over 500 Microsoft points and put up with the other two songs.

With Rock Band on the horizon Activision had a chance to redeem themselves, but according to 1UP Activision has revealed that future Guitar Hero III downloadable content will be coming to the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 in the next few weeks and there will be three download packs available. These three download packs will each contain three songs.

The third pack doesn't seem right as those songs are already in the game

EDIT: Actually, it makes sense if all the DLC does is make the Boss Battle songs available to play like normal songs instead of battle mode.

I'll definately be buying the Foo Fighters pack though, even with the high price.

Foo fighters looks worthwhile because they picked great songs, not too happy if they are selling Boss Battle songs for the other mode, should be unlocked ingame when you beat the battle rather than paying extra for them.

I've hear reference to a Marilyn Manson pack.

I actually like the idea of band packs. It means people won't buy music they hate in order to get one song they want.

Now what I would like to hear is that the GHII DLC can be used with GHIII.
