Today new details and media have been released on the group of games. Unfortunately, no price point or expected release date has been revealed just yet, though it's not likely that we'll see any of the four games until 2008.
Elements of Destruction puts players in control of a particularly angry Mother Nature. Simply put, players get to destroy the world using the forces of nature, such as lightning, tornadoes and earthquakes. Players can blow apart buildings, start raging fires and fry everything with bolts of lightning. Each scenario in the game challenges players to use these powers in special ways. The game has cooperative and competitive multiplayer modes.
Screwjumper will see players freefalling through mines in order to set explosive charges to take out an extraterrestrial threat. Destroy the mining machinery on the way down, then destroy the core of the mine and use your jetpack to get out. The game features 20 mines over 4 planets, with 6 different characters and four different play modes; destruction, race, time trial and score. Competitive play will be available over Xbox Live.
Rocket Riot is an action packed horizontal shooter where players take control of a bazooka wielding soldier equipped with a jetpack. Players have to blow their way through the fully destructible environments to take out enemies or other players in competitive multiplayer. The game features 80 single player missions, and four multiplayer modes with support for up to 8 players.
SpongeBob SquarePants: Underpants Slam is a 2D multiplayer-centric collect 'em up title. Taking control of their favourite character, including SpongeBob, Patrick, Sandy and Plankton, players will need to collect King Neptune's undergarments, which have been spread across the bottom of the sea after his laundry ship was hit by a powerful storm current. The single player quest mode will have players on the hunt for exactly 99 pairs of underpants, while time trial mode will require a certain number of undies to be found within the time limit. Up to four players can complete in multiplayer in either the slam game, or a version of tag. Characters will be able to unleash their super move to aid in their quest to be the victor, not to mention that some pairs of underpants will hold special power-ups to give you the edge. Players won't be the only ones after the underpants, as the local jellyfish collect the garments, and won't let you relieve them of their prize without a fight.
Screenshots of the four games can be found in the Media Panel. PALGN will have more on THQ's Xbox Live Arcade lineup in the coming months.
