Rock Band set list revealed

360 News | In short: lots.
Harmonix, MTV and Electronic Arts will combine forces to release Rock Band in PAL territories in March, but in the meantime, the trio has released the full track list for the game ahead of its North American release on November 20. The game contains 58 tracks - 45 acts from famous bands, and 13 from unknown garage bands, with more tracks available down the road via DLC.

"Our goal with Rock Band was to give players the chance to experience an amazing cross section of music from the last four decades, and our final list of tracks includes everything from emerging bands to iconic artists," stated Paul DeGooyer, MTV’s Senior Vice President of Home Entertainment, Music and Games. "The overwhelmingly positive response from artists, music publishers and record labels made the final selection process challenging, but extremely exciting. As a result, 51 out of 58 of the final selections are based on original masters, giving fans an unprecedented way to get closer to the music they love."

Eric Brosius, Harmonix audio lead stated, "Now that the disc track list is locked and Rock Band is being prepped for manufacture, we are working with our music partners to set an exciting download schedule, both for launch and beyond. Through DLC, players will have the ability to take a deeper dive into the music of the artists featured on the Rock Band disc, or further explore different genres of rock or additional bands if they choose."

Good to see The Pixies getting some guitar-game love! Pity they had to go and include Falloutboy though... *spits*

LOL guess I'm the only one who thinks that setlist blows (apart from most of the pre '80s stuff... Gimme Shelter's my personal fave). Still can't believe Jet is on there.... ugh. Where's the Powderfinger? Now that's REAL Aussie rock.
Guitar Hero's setlist is much, much better imo.

nooo Fallout Boy. At least they have The Strokes, Weezer, Radiohead, Hole (lol) and NiN. They need some latest songs. Like a better Radiohead Song (Just or Karma Police) and The Beatles. That would be awesome.

Yeah, it seems that having MTV behind you will always let slip some tryhard rock when it shouldn't have. Ive heard Red Octane have really sold out on Guitar Hero III with their merchandising gimmicks. I mean.. a guitar shaped like a Lynx bodyspray? What a load of sh*t!

Awesome list, including Fallout Boy. I'm pretty surprised at Hole being in there, but hey, it adds to the variety.

Wow, a mere sliver of choice from the 80's, no real representation punk/thrash/hc from the 80s/90's (Suicidal Tendencies, Pennywise, Snapcase, Black Flag, DK's etc.) and an unnecessary addition of MTV **** to fill out the 2000's. The 70's stuff looks promising though, I assume to pass career/world tour mode you'll be forced to play all the tracks though? I just can't lower myself to Fallout Bitch and the No No No's.

I long for the day we can have this type of game but with our own selected tunes from our hdd's.
