Ninja Gaiden 2 will have players once again taking on the role of Ryu Hayabusa as he goes on another mission to avenge his clan and prevent the destruction of the human race. Ninja Gaiden 2 will feature all sorts of new stuff, including a auto-regenerating health system, an all new gameplay engine, new enemies, weapons, and bucketloads of gore.
New fighting techniques include the Obliteration moves, which is basically a fancy way of saying finishing move - a way for Ryu to quickly and stylishly dispose of his opponent. Ninja Gaiden 2 also promises to be more accessible to lesser players, while still retaining higher levels of difficulty for more hardened ninja masters. This is done by way of the auto-regenerating health system and the restoration of semi-permanent damage at save/restore points.
The game's storyline will see Ryu go across the globe from New York to Tokyo, not to mention to the netherworld. Players can upload their best karma scores from the single player game and compete in an all new Master Ninja Tournament. Of course, the game will also feature mouth-watering graphics, with Team Ninja promising to push the Xbox 360 as far as it can go. New screenshots in the media panel show off the game's rather gorgeous graphics and stomach churning gore.
Ninja Gaiden 2 is expected to be released sometime in the middle of 2008. PALGN will have more news on the game as it breaks.
