Need For Speed ProStreet Xbox 360 demo released

360 News | On your marks..
EA has released the demo for Need for Speed: ProStreet on the Xbox Live Marketplace. The Need for Speed series is so popular EA could probably just get away without releasing a demo, but those who aren't sure what to make of ProStreet should get a good chance to see how the game is shaping up.

The demo comes in at 654MB and allows players to take on seven other opponents in a two lap race in the Nissan GT-R Prototype -43 Interloop of Germany's Autobahn. The speed challenge mode can also be tested out with the BMW M3 E92 on the Nevada Highway. We've been hearing some very promising things about Need for Speed: ProStreet so why not let us know your thoughts on the demo in our forums?

Just got home from work and im downloading it now. This is one of the games iv been really looking forward to

EDIT. Ok i tried out the demo. The game looks pretty good and the smoke effects from the burnouts look sweet. Only problem so far i have with it is the controlls of the car feel real sluggish. I guees the nfs games have always had this problem. The cars have a slight tank feel to them.

The only problem is that it's need for speed........again.......

I played what I'm assuming to be beta code for this at Supanova a fortnight ago. The game had horrible frame rate issues, but hopefully that was fixed for the demo. The cars had typical handling for modern NFS titles (Underground and on), and it basically felt like Underground on racing circuits. Seemed wierd and out-of-place... I played a few modes (racing, drifting, something else) but didn't get a chance to try out the customisation stuff (all the cars in the demo were pre-riced out), but there seemed to be a good variety of things you could do. The sounds were great- the RX8 was spot-on.

I'll probably grab the demo in a few days, but I'm engrossed in PGR4 at the moment, so who knows if I'll be able to enjoy NFS...

Hope they went back to the Underground driving model, I loved that but all the newer need for speed games don't feel as good, especially carbon which could have been one of the best NFS games of the series if the driving model wasn't so f***ed up icon_sad.gif.

This game pretty much throws out the old Need For Speed formula and starts from scratch.

Ive been playing the NFS series since Need For Speed 1 (since I was 12 lol). This game feels totally different, theyve taken a very realistic approach.

Gone is the semi arcade feel. Its no gran turismo or Forza though. Mind you Ive been playing on casual, as Im not big fan of racing sims and prefer arcade feeling games.

The cars feature full damage....and once you total your car, there isnt even a select button to magically place you back on the track, something has featured every NFS to date.

For those that think this is just another NFS game...think again, its totally different.

Stearing is wacked. Felt like I was in the back seat screaming instructions at a blind guy stearing with his feet. Also turning up the dificulty to King made it easer as it dosnt try to correct you stearing as much. When it tries to correct youre stearing it just makes things harder for you.
