Tetris Splash coming to the Xbox Live Marketplace Wednesday

360 News | Finally.
Tetris is finally making its way to the Xbox Live Marketplace and will be available tomorrow in the form of Tetris Splash.

Tetris Splash isn't too different from your normal Tetris game, except that the game features aquatic backgrounds. The game includes online multiplayer support for up to six players and a single player mode.

As with all Xbox Live Arcade titles, the game will include online leaderboards and a demo will be available for those who can't remember exactly what Tetris is. The game will be available for 800 Microsoft points.

HOYL SWEET GOD, awesome! Compared to Tetris Evolution or whatever it was, this is awesome value. Being able to lounge around playing Tetris from the comfort of my couch.. epic win!

El Taco, are there any games you do like?

EDIT:

Passa & theory speak the truth, 800 points is great value for a 6 player online tetris. I'll be buying for sure

Underwater aye, so it's like Bioshock, but in block form?

I do like tetris, I will check out the demo for sure.

I'm just saying it should be 400 points.

When you make a game, you can make it cost as much as you want. How does that sound?

Sounds pretty good, ill be getting this in a few weeks but for the moment the DS version should keep me quite occupied. 800 points for the game ain't that bad either considering how much gameplay you would get out of it.

Yeah way better value than the DS version (equivilant to about 4000 points)
DS version has a few more modes but this will have better online play by the looks of things and 6 player (ds was 4 player)
so yeah I might get this around xmas when I get a points card

DS was 10 player, wasn't it?

Does this one have the 5 next pieces display? I've always preffered the one with 1, ala the only Tetris I own - the Gameboy one.

nope it was 4 player online, might be different on LAN play though
its got a decent ranking system though

Just played a few games of this, pocketed 80 achievement points already. It's awesome. Multiplayer is great fun and very easy to setup. The familiar Tetris music is back. Pretty damn perfect as far as I'm concerned.

Edit: El Taco and retroman... can I ask what the basis of your negging is? If you can't give me a good reason I'm gonna have to... I dunno... maybe ban you both for a couple weeks so you can think about it.

Bah, its not worth it, obviously they aren't Tetris fans.. *sharpens knife*

I downloaded the trial, I'll definitely buy it once I get around to getting some MS points... Its Tetris, plain and simple. Multiplayer should be awesome.

They are both jealous that you can afford the 800 points to buy Tetris icon_lol.gif

what's it mean by "40 lines" maximum? Thinking of picking this up but not sure..
40 lines is a game mode where you have to make 40 lines as fast as you can.
Oh right so it doesn't say cut out after 40 lines?

Consider this a purchase then.
Nope, theres marathon mode ( 14 levels I believe, Im way too sucky to get that far though ) 40 lines and Multiplayer. It's very good value if you like tetris.

I remember seeing that game at a couple of nightclubs I went to in my younger years. icon_lol_old.gif

Seriously though, tetris is ultimately a game which never gets old.
Shame my 360 is in repairs atm so i can't even have a look at the trial version. icon_sad.gif

Downloaded this last night and while ti's good theres a couple of little things not to keen on in it. First is the black background of the play field. I find the Blue blocks really hard to see sometimes as they blend in with the background. My other complaint is there doesn't seem to be an endless mode, which is a shame. I've always liked just chilling out and playing endless mode.

That said I'm still having a lot of fun with it. It's nice to be able to play a game of Tetris without my hands cramping up (Something that always happened when I played Tetris on the Gamboy/GBcolour/DS) and kick back on the couch and relax while playing. I'm also digging the leaderboards. At the moment i'm sitting at number 18 on the Marathon mode leaderboard which I'm quite happy with. I may just have to keep at it and try to climb higher icon_biggrin.gif
