Sonic the Hedgehog 2 coming to XBLA this week

360 News | Bomberman Live DLC coming too.
Microsoft has announced that Sonic the Hedgehog 2 will be coming to the Xbox Live Arcade tomorrow.

The game will be available for 400 points and like all Xbox Live Arcade titles, there will be a demo to try it as well. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 was originally released in 1992 to compete against Nintendo's Mario. New downloadable content for Bomberman Live and Band of Bugs is also set to be released, so it could be an expensive week.

If you never owned a Mega Drive, Saturn, Dreamcast, GameCube, PS2, Xbox or Wii, this is your lucky day, my friend.

An online Bomberman that you can actually play against people would be nice. Especially with options. Bomberman Land Touch is gathering Dust along side Bomberman DS. icon_sad.gif

Wonder if there will be any difference between the VC and XBLA versions, apart from the achivements.

^ Don't buy those crappy Megadrive VC PAL games! Get the 360 verison (online multiplayer, achievements plus remixed gfx/sound).

I have never played this and keen to check it out on the 360.

Actually, I'm going to recant my snide remarks, because online multiplayer in Sonic 2 is sweet with a capital swee.

Yeah, I was going to say. The XBLA ports aren't as bad as the VC ones, in my opinion. Sonic 1 & 2 are cheaper on XBLA than their VC counterparts and you're getting new features not available in the previous versions.

I was going through my stuff today and realised that I must've sold my Sonic Collection for the GC, so looks like I'll probably be picking this up. Online multiplayer is a pretty hot deal too.

Yes you are exactly right. I have major issues with the Wii 'bare-boned' VC emulation verus the 360/PSN implementatoins. You are getting a lot more value for money. Online alone makes the price right.

Lets not get into the slowdown issues, but Jibbs, please post your PAL port pic for a laugh or three.

Good news but I'm not going to get it. I haven't played Sonic 1 since I got it and I don't really feel like playing it what so ever and I'm not even sure why - it was one of my all time favorite games, maybe I over killed it in the past?
