Mass Effect and PGR4 dated for Australia

360 News | We let you know what days to take off work.
Microsoft Australia has finally revealed the Australian release dates for both Project Gotham Racing 4 and Mass Effect. Project Gotham Racing 4 will be on store shelves on October the 11th, just over a month from now.

Mass Effect will be released on November the 22nd, which is good news indeed. Microsoft Australia has previously kept quiet about these two big titles, so we were a little concerned about whether Australians would be taking these two days off work; good news all 'round then. Except of course for various employers around the country, but if they're not gamers, they deserve it. If they are, they'll be sick too, so it's all OK.

PGR4 a bit close to Halo 3 for my liking!

I reckon it's Mass Effect or Bioshock for GOTY and with Mass Effect's scope it might win over Bioshock's polish. Honestly nearly every year a Bioware game comes out it's either in the running or winning the GOTY. I hope Bioshock still comes first but i'm worried what Mass Effect can do.

Honestly Novemember 22 is going to be huge. I don't actually know of a game that's more anticipated (almost all my mates who play games is looking foward to this whereas only 1/2 are interested in Bioshock, Halo 3 etc).

I'm still up in the air about it (being primarily an RPG) and i'll have to read some reviews and see how action oriented it is before making the purchase. The exploration of different planets and how it basically comes off like Star Wars (same level of polish and scope) in a different universe is really why i'm so interested.

I can't believe PGR4 is so soon!

How can you even say that when hardly anyone has even played the game... for example look at Jade Empire...

And I agree PGR4 looks really meh. What killed it for me was that they recycled the PGR3 cities. Id rather one extra new city over the four from the old game. Also Im not even interested in Motorbikes...

Jade Empire wasn't terrible, it just wasn't mind-blowingly fantastic. Mass Effect has an entire galaxy to explore, an incredibly detailed character creation process, a cinematic conversation system and some of the best graphics on the 360. I'd say it's off to a pretty damn good start.

Nov 22, that's only 2 days after the US release! I might actually get the australian version for once as it will be in my hands sooner icon_smile.gif

I'm guessing you aren't aware that Bioware didn't make KOTOR2? I cant see why they would make the third - if there ever is one as I don't believe it's been announced.

Yay, more f**king games to buy nearing xmas.

As if there isn't enough already! icon_sad.gif

But good news on Mass Effect and PGR4! I'm like one of the only people on Earth that actually liked PGR3.

I should have a 360 by the time Mass Effect comes out icon_biggrin.gif.

But PGR4 has 4 more cities that are entirely new to the series: Shanghai, St. Petersburg, Quebec City, Macau as well as the Michelin Test Track, so what's the problem?

I was a bit meh about PGR4 too until I saw some videos on youtube and once I saw some proper weather effects such as snow I was sold. Weather effects is one of the major things missing from Forza 2. Imaging driving on snow with proper psychics, I cant wait.

^ But Forza is about proper track racing, and events like that would be cancelled in snow.

I cannot wait for PGR4, Every single PGR title for some unbeknownst reason has had me glued to the television. It's just one of those series that appeals to me so much and i can't put my finger on it, this game looks amazing.

If that is the case, where was the rain? Racing events still happen when it rains. Forza 2 had only sunny weather, no other weather effects.

You do realise there's a limit to what devs can do, right? They put in by far the most advanced physics we've seen in a console racing game, and you still want more? I'm sure they could have gone for more, but we certainly wouldn't be playing the game now. I'd love to have rain in a game, or even changing weather forcing you to change tyres, but above that I'd rather be playing Forza 2 as it is now.
