Xbox 360 Elite release date and price announced

360 News | Coming August 30th.

As we suspected late last week Microsoft has officially confirmed via a press release that the Xbox 360 Elite console will be making its way to Australian retailers on the 30th of August at the recommended retail price of $729.95.

The black-coloured console will come with a 120GB hard drive, a black wireless controller, an Xbox Live headset, and a HDMI cable to support its once-rumoured HDMI port.

Additionally, black-coloured wireless controllers, Play & Charge kits and rechargeable batteries will be made available to purchase separately for those that are keen to have a matching colour-scheme for their gaming setup.

Jeremy Hinton, Product Marketing Manager, Xbox Australia, says, "Xbox 360 Elite has been designed with a high-end enthusiast audience in mind. With HDMI support and a much larger storage capacity for games, the Xbox 360 Elite helps to satisfy our customers’ growing appetite for premium gaming and entertainment experiences."

I wonder what EB or GAMES trade in deals will be for trading in your current premium 360 in towards an Elite. I'll wait to see what they offer before deciding to upgrade. I've already got a black controller and plug and charge kit though.

Interesting enough, IGN has stated that the Xbox 360 Elite will be initially available in limited quantities.

I'm not so sure about this.

omg!! use r all so annoying on this site!! i only have 6 spoony stuff and i had around 16 b4 and none of that was spamming i mean i was spamming like a few months ago but they deleted all thats spamming worth of spoons! i hate this site and now i want to be banned lol...

Mmm.. as much as I'd want one, it looks like I'm settling for the Pro for $530. $200 just for the extra 100GB I won't use really, and maybe that plug and charge kit.. decisions decisions..
