My Chemical Romance Pack released for Guitar Hero II

360 News | A very specific pack.
Activision has released the My Chemical Romance pack for Guitar Hero II on the Xbox Live Marketplace. The My Chemical Romance pack costs 500 Microsoft points and contains three songs "as performed" by My Chemical Romance.

The three songs are "Teenagers," "Famous Last Words" and "This is How I Disappear". Activision caused quite a stir early this year when the first downloadable content was released for Guitar Hero II as many people thought 500 points was a little bit expensive. Unfortunately the packs sold rather well and Activision has stated they'll be keeping the pricing.

Music's music people. If you don't like it, great. If you do like it. great.

For me, if I had GHII, I'd be downloading. 'Famous Last Words' and 'This is how I disappear' are two of the best tracks off the album.

^um no.

While emo is bandied about alot today, i think everyone still knows what line is drawn in the sand between rock/goth/dark/metal whatever and emo.Goth and emo is a lil bit blurred, but still easy to pick.Goth could kick your ass up and down the street, while emo's don't wanna break a fingernail.Goth live goth, emo live emo on weekends.Goth is here to stay, it's been around for freakin ages, emo is a pop fad.

Now, to just give you a once over on what emo actually is, i've provided, surprise, pictures.

And so on and so forth.Make the comparisons yourself, fairly similiar styles of music(close enough anyways, i didn't try to comapre fitty cent to anyone) but you can clearly see which ones are leaning heavily towards the whole stereotypical emo thing, and which ones aren't.

Did it really need to go this far?If you like emo bands, like i said before, fine whatever, but at least come to terms with it, as hard as it maybe.Perhaps your a closet emo?

EDIT-notice the tight pants in pic 2(and 1, hey they're band leaders outfits, don't get much tighter then that) and also note the loose baggy pants in pic 3, and the complete lack of pants in pic 4.They all correlate nicely with their emo/non-emo grouping.
Okay. I don't think you've got much a clue, matey.

Just to get this out of the way first - I don't like emo. I don't mind some older emo from 15-20 years ago (Sunny Day Real Estate, Mineral, etc.), but for the most part I'm not interested. If I were "emo", I certainly wouldn't have taken this stance, would I?

To the bands you had, AFI were a "goth" hardcore punk band who got big and started putting out power pop songs.

My Chemical Romance were a pop punk band who got big and started putting out cheesy "us against them" pop anthems for depressed 15 year olds who like to paint their lips with black licorice.

I just think that out of all the fad words/terms out there at the moment, "emo" is easily the most misused one of the lot - it pretty much means nothing the way it's used. Do we really need it contaminating everything?

I suppose having this discussion/argument in the first place is contributing to the problem, though icon_smile.gif

Goth - You're arrogant and think you're an artist.

Metal Heads - Rock out with your c**k out and get absolutely pissed whilst banging away at Meshuggah. Don't care about anything.

Emo - A masochistic kind of trend that is extremely negative on todays generations, as it has major influences in suicide, self-mutilation, drug abuse, etc. Emo bands = not good, as it only sings of tragedy and all that rubbish, which isn't particularily good in the middle of puberty.

That's an emo.

And meshuggah eat the flesh of emos.

Listen to some real music ya p**sies icon_razz.gif

8 bucks for 3 songs? Screw that

Well hopefully some Aborted and Mastodon show up on an overpriced guitar hero pack soon. Poor old Korn, first they're nu-metal, now they're emo, it'll be post-futuristic noise ensemble next

All I need to say is that the dude who's attempting to defend Emo culture by looking like he's an expert on Stereotypes is absolutely hilarious.

MCR Is emo, nobody cares about debating it because it's the general consensus, regardless of technicalities. If you're so passionate, join them.

Definintion of irony:

Metalheads bitching about bands being emo and yet a group which is quite clearly of this genre (Coheed and Cambria, love them to bits by the way, but the entire concept of their albums is based on the very idea of emo) gets awarded album of the year by Metal Hammer magazine.

As for MCR being emo, it's just simply not the case, they don't sing about tragedy and all that stuff. They sing moreso about death to others than of any sort of melancholic inner monologue. People need to ignore how bands look and listen to the ****ing music for once, otherwise you just come off looking like an idiot who has no idea what they're talking about. There are no "emo themes in their music, period.

Oh, and to whoever said black eyeliner is emo, get a ****ing clue, it's goth. There's a HUGE difference. Whether people who put the stuff on know this or not is beside the point, black eyeliner and white makeup is a trait that the goth genre has created, not emo.

Shame on you Jibbs, by the way, what could possibly make you think an image denotes what style a band is? And if this has nothing to do with their music and it's simply about how they look... who cares? I don't know about you but when I listen to a band I tend to use my ears, not my eyes, what do you do, sit down and gaze longingly into your favourite muso's picture whenever you chuck an album on?

Somehow, I doubt it.

In fact, The Black Parade was an album released to celebrate life rather than death anyway. As in, "do what you can with your life because it's precious and don't let **** ruin it." It's actually incredibly inspiring stuff. Another example of people just not listening to songs before hanging **** on them.

Personally couldn't care less.

My Chemical Romance are the new Queen and I can't stop listening to their music.

I know I've got my tickets to see them in November!

Whatever sin, listen to your *** emo music and keep telling yourself it's not.

Like i've said for about the 3rd of 4th time, whatever floats your boat.

Anyway, as far as the price is concerned, I think if people are stupid enough to pay for ringtones on their mobile phones, the developers have every right to charge large amounts for songs on GH games.

Exactly. I've liked quite a few bands that would be considered 'emo' in sound, doesn't worry me too much. The only reason that I will give **** to MCR is because I think their music is terrible.
