Bully coming to Wii and 360

360 News | Revisit Bulworth Academy.
Rockstar Games has just announced that their hilariously heroic tale of high-school hope, hijinks and misadventure, Bully, will be coming to the Xbox 360 and Wii.

Titled Bully: Scholarship Edition, players will be able to return to Bulworth Academy, home of the 15 year-old Jimmy Hopkins. In addition to the originaly game, both versions will feature additional content.

More famous for controversy than anything else, Bully was unfairly labelled a "Columbine simulator" by some publications before launch, a rather excessive title, given that the game didn't feature blood, bruises, or even knives. If that wasn't enough, the game also featured the ability to break out of traditional heterosexual relationships and flirt, nay even kiss members of the same sex. Unfortunately, the controversy to some extent overshadowed what was in fact quite a good game.

A launch date hasn't yet been set, but Rockstar says that the game will be available sometime around Christmas. If you haven't already played it, it may be worth picking up to have a go. Screenshots below are from the PlayStation 2 version, but expect similar detail for the Wii.

Canis Canem Edit was a decent substitute for Bully as a name. Meaning something similar in latin i assume.

Rockstar jumping on the porting bandwagon. 360 may get a graphical boost. Wii... straight up PS2 port. *sigh*

@thedoag: it means Dog eat Dog.

This is a bit silly I think. We can't just keep porting over last gen games that sold less than expected. When does it stop?

When people stop buying them icon_eh.gif

Besides, it could end up being another Resident Wiivil - which would be excellent for people like me who never got around to playing the PS2 version.

I too am sick of stupid ports, all though I do admit ResEvil 4 looks interesting. Since I still have my cube copy I have no desire to get the Wii version, likewise with Bully, got my PS2 version, happy with that.

I wonder if they'll upgrade the graphics majorly for the 360, and also minorly for the Wii?

You mean downgrade for Wii, right?

Ahhh the Wii, so damn ugly.

Yea this really sux Manhunt 2 gets cancelled so they decide to port over a Ps2 game.

Man honestly I knew this would happen with the Wii and this sorta crap is in full flight. Resident Evil 4 is like my favourite game but i've played it to death, I have absolutely no interest in the Wii version so another port is absolutely worthless to me.

I have to admit I did enjoy Bully at the begining but I got sick of it real quick....it's almost exactly like GTA but without the cars/car jacking/weapons/violence....so in other words all the good bits of GTA are gone. So honestly this did fool me for a while while I took all the new things in but the whole game is like a collection of mini-games strung together with a pretty good story. The fetch quests (which there are heaps of in GTA aswell) are sooooo boring you just get sick of doing the same thing over and over back and forth from the same place. There were a couple of stand out parts (boxing and the fair) but overall the game just got kinda boring for me and honestly I don't see what the wii controls are gonna do and the 360 version will be the same game but in HD so textures will still look crap except it'll all be crisp and shiney now. icon_rolleyes.gif

Like crest said earlier....the Wii is just picking up the scraps of all the games that didn't perform well on the Ps2 when it's a lot more capable than that.

Oh well atleast those that didn't play the Ps2 version can fill Rockstar's pockets so that they can keep porting crap....no biggie.

Manhunt 2 didn't get canned, it got delayed. It's getting cut to make it less violent. Then they are presenting it to the ESRB/BBFC again. Remember Norway would've got it uncut at the 18+ rating but Take Two suspended all releases.

I always liked the idea of this game on PS2 so I'd look forward to a release on Xbox 360. They really should have done a PSP port or stories game. PSP crowd would have eaten it up.
