E3 2007: New Resident Evil 5 teaser trailer revealed

360 News | More non-zombies? Trailer embedded inside.
With a simple Wii re-release of one of last gen's best games gaining a lot of positive press, it seems the Resident Evil series is hot again. As shown during the Microsoft's E3 press conference, video site Gametrailers has gotten their hands on the official teaser trailer of the next game in Capcom's survival horror series. The trailer shows ex-STARS member Chris Redfield in what appears to be an African setting. Many parallels to the opening scenes of Resident Evil 4 are evident, including what appear to be organised non-zombie villagers as the main enemies of the game - will the Las Plagas return?

Resident Evil 5 is coming to both Sony and Microsoft's next-gen platforms, but there's no mention of whether it's the PS3 or Xbox 360 version running. Click on the video below to watch the trailer.

Reminds me of Black Hawk Down. So I'm think instead of RE4 being set in Spain it'll be with Somalis, or some other African place.

VOODOO MAGICK!!!

Oh man that trailer was perfect!!!! It was exactly what I needed....no extra info or spoilers just a little bit of extra footage cementing (kinda) what I had already been expecting from it and that was more intelligent villagers and that the game was going to be based around africa.

I think I can rest in peace now cuz nothing ain't budging Resident Evil from it's #1 spot after seeing that.....not even Bioshock!

After this long i was hoping for something a little... well, lengthier. Definitely a cool clip, it just didn't show enough. I guess it served its purpose, but damnit, i've been waiting for so damn long! I'm hoping this is just part 1 of like, 10, or something icon_sad.gif

July 26, guys. According to IGN, which I quoted in the thread I started, more content is coming to the Xbox Marketplace. ...hopefully its not just this thing again.

That teaser has a definite 28 Days Later vibe to it, which I'm digging. Interesting to see such a wild variation in the setting, too. Looking very cool!

There's been no gameplay footage shown Diogenes, so you could hardly come to a judgement this soon? icon_razz.gif

All I was saying is that I "dislike" these kinda games...

^ well if you said it more clearly, then no one can really fault you for your opinion.

i didn't really like the first 3 RE games, but i quite liked RE4 when i first got it on PS2, though i never got around to completing it.
now on the Wii, i'm having a blast with it.

but i got to agree, if you don't like this style of game in any of the previous iterations, chances are you won't like RE5.

I gotta feeling its not going to be great mainly due to head person leaving.
