E3 2007: Xbox 360 Elite Euro release confirmed

360 News | August 24th.

Microsoft has confirmed the release date for the Xbox 360 Elite in Europe will be August 24, 2007.

The Xbox 360 Elite adds a 120GB hard drive, an HDMI port, and a new matte black paint job. The console was originally released in America during April, and is good choice for new Xbox 360 buyers as Microsoft continues to add support for movie, television shows and game downloads.

Unfortunately, no price was given, nor a hint of an Australian release. We expect Microsoft to provide an official press release shortly.

hmmm i have a feeling it wont have built in wifi, cause that would make their wifi add on useless, probably the same reason why it doesnt have a built in hd dvd player.

It doesn't have anything special. Hopefully by then the falcon shipset should be in them at least, so that should put an end to the red rings issue.

I just went down to my local EB game store and apparently the elite will include two wireless controllers, built in wi-fi, a play and charge and the 120GB HD n HDMI port. No exact release date or Price but they think October sometime and maybe around $1000. This is rather appealing but when compared to the PS3 the PS3 will win simply because it has built in BlueRay. I'll probably still buy a 360 because of halo 3, and just my loyalty to xbox and when it comes down to it who really cares about movies. I've got a 1080i tv so it's no difference to me.[/b]

i'll purchase one, but not for 1k and especially not if it doesnt come with the more reliable hardware

Anyway, I'd get an Elite, if I didn't already have an Xbox 360. I want HDMI + Black colour..but eh, too expensive and trading my old one in is just going to come out twice the expense.

That doesn't apply to hardware

I don't mean movies all together, just HD movies, It may look a little better but i personally wouldnt watch enough movies or even HD movies to justify owning bluer-ray or HD DVD. at the moment that is maybe into the future.
