No Gears of War sequel at E3

360 News | Epic still working on the first one.
After the phenomenal success of the first Gears of War a sequel is just about inevitable. However, Epic VP Mark Rein has confirmed to fansite Beyond Unreal that we won't be seeing anything of a Gears sequel at E3 next month.

Epic's Mark Rein stated: "We are not announcing a sequel to Gears of War at E3 this year. Did you see the update we just did for Gears of War last week? We're still working on the first one."

With Halo 3 set for release this year we'd wage news on the next Gears title is still months off, if not years.

Yeah, there is no need to hype this game at all. I mean, M$ are better off focusing on Q3 and Q4 releases at this E3. This is the first real next-gen xmas, well for PAL gamers icon_smile.gif

they are right, alot of people are really into this game and some are buying it this moment. there is no need for a sequel just yet or even an announcment for a sequel until next E3 2008 really...

I'm just starting to play the first one myself. I've got to say I don't find it all that impressive after having played GRAW2 and RE4 before Gears. The limited colour pallet is not too nice on an SD television either.

That's true, now that all 3 consoles are finally available to us (about time), we can enjoy the benefits of each. I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot of great stuff at E3, judging from the list, it looks to be a sweet lineup.

I had been watching and waiting for this game to come out many a months before i could get my hands on it and it more then lived up to what i was wanting out of it. the only disappointing thing about it is the no bots in non-online multiplayer. all awesome shooters should take a page out of killzone and supply us with bot after bot to blow apart when you don't have the ability to blow apart people online.

GRAW2 and RE4 although similar are completely different games to GoW. and even though they are great they dont stack up to GoW.

if you wanted a game full of colour you would be better off getting a game that has notihng to do with war... maybe a nice racing game where you can go round and round in circles for a few hours

I'm sure he was on it somewhere, Ugh...maybe the Captain himself?

I've heard around the place (on Live icon_wink.gif) that Gears of War 2 is scheduled for Xmas this year.

Not that I believe it.
