Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End demo released

360 News | It's a pirate's life for me.
The official demo for Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End has been released on the Xbox Live Marketplace, and clocks in at just under 1GB.

The demo lets you try out the first level tutorial, so you'll get a taste of what's to come in the final game. At World's End is actually shaping up rather well, and lets you play as Captain Jack Sparrow, Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann. Despite the title, the game will also let you relive specific moments from the second film too. For a look at what we thought of the game, head over to our preview.

I love it. The graphics are great, they remind me alot of Resident Evil 4 with the texturing and dark coloring and the gameplay is great fun. You have to do duels to defeat more worthy opponents which means something different every once in a while, not that the normal gameplay is bad - its just not great... But I was entertained the whole way through.

Its like the bit when Jack escapes from Prison and sails away in his coffin, so theres no movie spoilers. Im pretty sure ill be getting the game now.

First and foremost, hats off to Eurocom (quite an underrated developer, IMHO) to creating what is possibly the second-best looking game on the xbox360 after Gears of You-Know-What.

Unfortunately, the gameplay mechanics are kinda repetitive, and the controls are sluggish. It reminded me of playing the first few Tomb Raider games (though obviously a tad better than that!) in that Jack Sparrow felt like he was sauntering through thick glue.

I dunno, when I'm controlling Jack Sparrow I want a fluid control scheme to do him justice. Something more akin to Tomb Raider: Legend, God of War, or Zelda, to name a few, would have been fantastic.

At the very least it might be worth a rent while the movie excitement is buzzing around, but for myself, I have no real urge to really play it again, let alone spend any cash.

The demo is worth it just to see some pretty graphics, though icon_razz.gif

The general gameplay sucks but graphics look nice. A average game but nice movie license game.

Is there a website that has a list of dates for XBL demo's to come out?

^ No because most demos are randomly released. Obviously demos such as the Forza 2 one are announced and then released a while after that, but generally you won't know a demo is coming until it is actually available on the Marketplace.
