Tony Hawk's Proving Ground details revealed

360 News | It's time to prove your worth.
Activision has sent through some of the first details on Tony Hawk's Proving Ground, which we first confirmed a few days ago.

The game is to include a video editor, with editing tools and visual effects for creating skate videos. There'll also be a customisable online skate lounge, where players can skate with friends in their pad. According to Activision, "players will have the freedom to skate from single player to online seamlessly," and there'll be new gameplay mechanics, such as skateable terrain altering and building. The "Nail the Trick" mode is back, with "Nail the Grab" and "Nail the Manual" both adding to your arsenal of moves.

"Tony Hawk’s Proving Ground drops players into the skateboarding world like never before," enthused Joel Jewett, president of Neversoft. "This is the largest, deepest and most compelling Tony Hawk game ever. You can skate the best lines, define your own style and produce your own videos. You can even take it further by tricking out your own Skate Lounge, where you can hang out and skate with others online. Proving Ground will throw you so deep into the lifestyle of skateboarding that you won’t be able to get out. Hands down, it’s the most exciting Tony Hawk title yet."

We've included the first few images in the Media Panel. The game will be coming to Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, PlayStation 2 and Nintendo DS.

With all the customizable stuff, still no mention of bringing back the ability to create your own skate park. icon_sad.gif

Actually, there was a brief mention of what could possibly be just that:

I can only assume that that means there will at least be small areas with moveable terrain pieces as in P8. Hopefully they'll bring back the create-a-park mode though.

By the looks of it, it will be a dumbed down version as seen in P8. Sad really.

Skate seems like the better option at this point in time. Although I'll be buying both regardless.

Personally I think it depends on how it controls. Personally I think since THPS3 that they nailed how a skating game is meant to be controlled

didnt they say you can invite players to skate in your "pad" i think that suggests making your own "pad" perhaps this is your own little personal skate park
