Assassin's Creed combat screenshots

360 News | Five new images to drool over.
Just as our fried brains recovered from the mind-numbing exercise of uploading 62 Devil May Cry 4 screens, along comes Ubisoft with - hoorah! - another set of shots for Assassin's Creed.

Still, there's only five of these, and we can't complain, considering how much we're looking forward to Ubi's crusading bump-'em-off. Coming from the same chaps that were behind the Prince of Persia games, we reckon our excitement is justified.

As usual, zoom over to the Media Panel to see all.

deffinately getting there, really liked the detail of the armor the soldiers were wearing.

It'll bepretty fun if you can just go on a rampage like in GTA and see how long it'll take for the enforcement to get you.

What impresses me in those screens is how natural the up-close and personal style of combat looks, which makes sense as that is such a big part of the game. Still, its good to know that they're doing it well (at least, as much as you can judge from a few carefully taken screenshots...).

What's with the extremely high gamma (or whatever it is) in those screens though? Makes things look pretty naff icon_sleepy.gif

Screenshots can somethmies be a little misleading. I have little doubt that this game will be nothing short of pure class.

Graphics are very nice however I have a feeling combat is going to come out very slow and boring.

I would love to be more excited about this game (no honestly)....but because it's Ubisoft and comes off like a Prince of Persia type game....I have this nagging feeling that it's gonna be a 'been there, done that' sorta game.

I do like the setting however so I hope i'm wrong.

Anyone else get that feeling though?

I belive it is made by the team that made the Prince of persia game. Some thing I remember hearing in one of the trailers.

Actually I'm getting the opposite feeling... for the same reasons.

What they've show so far looks great except the combat which will hopefully be at least decent. It is being made by a team comprised of mostly members of the Prince of Persia team. That along has me excited for the game. If they can make the platforming feel as good in a wide open city as it did in the POP games then this game will be a winner in my books.

Unfortunately, this appears to me to be a couple of screenies from the trailers :S Although I must say, this still looks damn cool, and is still a must buy in my opinion icon_biggrin.gif

This game is about assassinating and that combat looked damn horrible.

He just stood there like a goon and took a couple of slow, clunk, swipes while 50 guards stood around him like stunned mullets.

The combat in this gameplay video is anything but what crestfallen described, in my opinion. I love this vid icon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gif

Clearly this game is designed fundamentally as a stealth title. Toe to toe combat is meant to be avoided at all costs. My anticipation is high, very high.
