New BioShock screenshots released

360 News | Jaw drops due to excitement.
Irrational Games has released a handful of new, and admittedly quite spectacular, screenshots from its sublime first-person shooter BioShock, which will be released on the PC and Xbox 360 in August.

The game is set in the underwater utopia Rapture where gamers will be able to experiment with all sorts of biogenetic mutations, enabling players to use an array of abnormal abilities to their advantage.

The anticipation surrounding BioShock is clearly well deserved, and the poise shown in this latest bunch of screenshots pushes it further up the ladder on our must-have list. Gimme!

I have a feeling this game is going to 'scare' everyone without needing to resort to zombies or dark corridors etc.

Very, very classy.

Graphics-wise maybe not. But I have a feeling this is going to be the most unique FPS created in a looong time (since System Shock 2 most likely). It looks fantastic (the art direction is wonderful) and I'm eager to start pumping Adam into my Character's veins!

yeah the graphics didnt really blow me away, but as long as it has a story line which you can sink your teeth into it'll be a great addition.

Quoted for ultimate truthâ„¢!
The art direction in this has had me in lust from day one. Self-contained Utopian society, underwater, coated liberally with a few layers of 1950s style (and unparralled knack for insanely bizarre/awesome 'futuristic' design)? YES PLEASE!

This screenshot had me gaping like a slack-jawed yokel for a good 5 minutes:

It just oozes class.

While the grapgics are not quite as "WOW" as I thought they were when I first saw them and nothing recently released has brought back the wow I still have hope for this game

I personally think both the graphics and the art direction are absolutely bloody fantastically terrifically awesome. I could have added more words to that, because, well, this game looks hot and I'm really pumped for it. Underwater city = total win right there and I do see this game being my game of the year if Irrational can pull it off. Which by the way I have full faith in them to do, because they're Irrational. icon_biggrin.gif

Must. Have. BioShock. Now.

I'm seriously wondering whether the people saying things like "The graphics aren't what expected..." etc. have actually bothered to look at the screenshots/videos. Seriously, what else can you expect from a game that has been in production for three years (at least) now?

That aside - the visuals are 'sextacular' no-matter how long they've been in development for. If you can't see that then maybe you should hang up your eyes on the coat-rack and leave the realm of vision to those who can actually tell their arsehole from their earhole...
