Boom Boom Rocket still coming to XBLA in Australia

360 News | Probably not too soon though.
Boom Boom Rocket was released worldwide last week by Bizarre Creation for the Xbox Live Arcade. Or, so we thought. Once again, certain regions of the world were left out, including Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Singapore, Taiwan and yes, Australia.

A week on, we thought we'd ask the game's publisher, EA, whether Boom Boom Rocket would still be coming to Australia, especially after the no-show of the arcade version of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Well, the good news is that EA spokesman Cameron Jenkins has confirmed Boom Boom Rocket will be coming to Australia in "the near future". Unfortunately, Jenkins also stated that EA "... Are still to finalise a time when it will be available in Australia."

I love it... three levels of difficulty, 10 songs that are all based closely enough on major classics that they're recognisable but tweaked enough that their techno beat feels right, different kinds of play styles and side-by-side two player (as well as online)... awesome - 800 points - well worth it for me.

How did you get your US points, Mr Andypuppy?

Like you, I have a US Gamertag (good for downloading US exclusive demos), but I dont think I can use Australian points on a US Gamertag.

Cheers.

Up until the firmware update in January, I was able to use my Aussie credit card and a US address (heh, I actually used 1 Microsoft Way, Redmond, WA). After that I was stuffed. I tried everything - it rejected my AUssie credit cards, I spent 4 hours on the phone with support trying to either allow me to enter an Aussie credit card OR transfer my Xbox Live to be a local Aussie account, and both were impossible (by design).

I also tried buying a points card from EB but the points were rejected.

In the end, I asked one of my US friends if I could use their credit card and give them the cash, which they graciously allowed me to do. So, I'm doing OK, but only have around 1400 points left now so will need a top up (not to mention what happens when my Live account needs renewing in September!).
