New characters coming for Marvel Ultimate Alliance

360 News | Magneto and the Incredible Hulk headline the content.
Activision has announced via a press release that they're intending to release Marvel Ultimate Alliance Heroes and Villians. The expansion packs feature eight new playable characters including The Incredible Hulk, Magneto, Hawkeye, Sabretooth, Doctor Doom, Cyclops, Nightcrawler and Venom.

Each character comes complete with new signature powers, skins, dialog and achievement points. The pack will be available in April. The downloadable content will be released in three packs. The Hero pack and Villain pack will each be 500 Microsoft points and the Combined Hero and Villain Pack will be 800 Microsoft points. Heroes and Villains gamer pic packs will also be available for 80 Microsoft points each.

“The signature gameplay of Marvel: Ultimate Alliance has made it a favourite among fans, as well as the best-selling Super Hero game on the Xbox 360 to-date,” said Rob Kostich, vice president of global brand management, Activision, Inc. “By adding some of the biggest names in the Marvel Universe to the roster we’re enabling Xbox 360 gamers to build a variety of all-new teams and enjoy the epic action in brand new ways.”

wowsers - thats some cool content.

just a pity the actual game wasn't that great. good in multiplayer but single player was a bit flat.

I agree totally, though I saying Magneto and Hulk headlining is kind of rude towards Doctor Doom

Geez I hope Hulk doesn't randomly hit his team mates and Magneto trying to kill the XMEN

No but Bruce Banner was. I think he was in the second level the Omega Zone or something.

What Marvel Ultimate Alliance really needed to do was to stop using that engine that we had seen before in XMen Legends. Its just a really repetitive engine, with the same basic building blocks with a different theme for each level. Plus all the rooms have 90 degree lines.

It doesn't help that there's way too much excessive dialogue and the flow of the game is interrupted by the main base that you return to all the time, as well as the fact that the levels don't flow together very well. One minute Im fighting in some chinese inspired rooms, the next underwater, the next in some bizarre circus level.

Anyways i thought the best bit was the arcade style multiplayer how we were all battling for points. I've only got 3 controllers so it was great to have only three players on the screen too.
