Australian prices for Halo 3 special editions revealed

Just a few days ago, we detailed just exactly what the contents of the three Halo 3 editions were, but we were unable to confirm a local price point. Fortunately for us, Microsoft sent word down the wire of just how much Halo 3 will set you back this holiday season.

The Legendary Edition, which comes in a rather swish looking Spartan helmet, will not come cheap - expect to pay $199.95 for your box full of Halo goodies. The Limited Edition game will be a much more reasonable $119.95, and finally, the standard edition of the game will be $99.95.

Halo 3 is set to launch in the fourth quarter of this year.

You want the US$130 version to be AU$110...

Pricing seems pretty good given the US prices. That said, I still think the US prices are a bit much, but the super Legendary edition is supposed to be an ultimate collectors type thing. There's already a regular edition and collectors edition and the prices for those are fine (given they are RRPs).

Don't you just get re-done cutscenes from the first two Halo titles to explain the events leading up to H3, rather than the actual games in the Legendary ed?

Anyway, if they are as fancy as we've been led to believe and are as limited as they seem to think - then an rrp of $200 isn't all that terrible.

Still, I quite liked the cut scenes from both games so it's worth it, especially if that bloody texture pop in is killed.

I think he meant Limited Edition, as in the one for 119.95.
$200 is a bit steep for a game, but I guess for what you are getting (i.e. the helmet) probably worth it.

My order is already down. $200 is well worht it for a pack of that size.

Lets just hope that this time it is LIMITED. I was at myer about 3 weeks ago adn they had about 60 sealed halo 2 tins for $30. LOL

I spent $89 on mine, and ti is still sealed. *cries*

I'll probably hit that tin version. Looks like good value (and knowing JB, they'll probablt sell it for dead set cheap - I picked up the Gears LE there for $85. That just didn't make sense at the time.

EB would probably take pre-orders on Xbox 1080s and Halo 12. Yes they'll take pre-orders. As long as you want to give them money, they'll take it pretty much.

Would you believe i'm getting both? I gotta have that Helmet but I also gotta have the art book! Damn you Microsoft/Bungie! Halo 3 is gonna be HUGE....I can't wait! I don't mind having to get both....I mean i've already got backups of the other 2 so this is kinda like the same thing in a way.
