Skate images revealed

360 News | Looking great?
EA has finally revealed some of the first screenshots for Skate, which was originally revealed back in September.

Skate looks set to be the first serious competition that Neversoft's Tony Hawk series has ever had to face up to. The game is being developed by EA Vancouver, will feature 14 pro skaters, and will be coming to the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 at the end of the year.

Its looking sh*t hot !

Hopefully this game puts pressure on Neversoft to get the ass into gear and fix the TH series.

I read about this in Hyper a little while ago. I haven't bothered to play a skateboarding games since Tony Hawk 2. Skate has just rekindled an old flame. I think I will be picking this one up if it all comes together as I hope.

They fixed it, its called Project 8, this is looking good but question is how will it play. Project 8's controls are near flawless and still looks good so I still think Skate has an uphill battle

Yeah, I have it. It's not fixed, some of the best things of the series have been removed or dumbed down.

No level builder = fail.

NO LEVEL BUILDER?!

What the hell Neversoft?

By fixed, I'm sure he means no more Bam Magera CKY wankery.

Skate seems to have a better grasp of the concept of gravity and realism than the THPS series. A good thing mind you, it's too easy to pull off a 1,000,000+ point combo in THPS these days.

I'm with Slap here. Project 8 craps all over some of the other recent editions of the franchise, but it is by no means the best version. It's missing some things like Slap alludes to, and well it just isn't as compelling as the older games were.

Skate, on the other hand, looks like it will absolutely blow Tony Hawk out of the water. Until Neversoft make the franchise decent again anyway.

This game seems like the 'skaters' game and not the wannabe skaters game.

Love how they have utilized the dual sticks to their full potential having the left stick lean the body while the right stick leans the board and the triggers for grabs on either side of the board.

So basically you'd have to lean the body back(left stick) in a crouching position as well as tilt the board back(right stick) then toss them both forward to perform an ollie etc, with variants of the board leaning leading to kick flips etc.

Good to see that it is keeping it real and not crazy over the top like the tony hawk series.
I just hope they have enough variety in the game to keep you wanting to come back.

The engine overhaul, better control and of course yes NO MORE BAM!

I do not like how its too easy to pull off 1 000 000, it was something to brag about in the old games, if anything they should be more stingy on points.
