Xbox 360 wireless guitar on the way for PAL Guitar Hero II

360 News | Shredding faces without a plastic leash.
I was rocking out on YYZ one day, when a Hero instinct kicked in. Deciding to totally destroy a few of my onlookers, I turned to shred a memorised solo in a few chump faces. This included ninja kicks and guitar acrobatics. Needless to say, the thin black line of death, otherwise known as the controller cord, held me back and ripped the long-lasting PS2 off the shelf.

Anyone who has experience of the same situation knows the frustrations of a wired guitar controller. While a few wireless third-party alternatives are available, it's always good to have the genuine article. Guitar Hero II's Associate producer Ted Lange, speaking to IGN, made mention that an official wireless controller for the upcoming 360 version of the acclaimed music title is on the way "rather shortly."

Evidently, a wire is absolutely needed to ensure full functionality is enabled at this point. Videos of the 360 version being played have all featured a wired controller, but the propect of wireless play for a guitar is even more promising than that of a regular pad.

Xbox Live subscribers will also enjoy the largest amount of downloadable content "anyone has ever seen in a game to date". Pricing details (will it be free? Doubtful) are unavailable at this point.

Rock on. Guitar Hero II is scheduled for an April release date.

Microsoft are the ones that aren't letting them do wireless yet. But ah, so the news here is nothing, really. They plan to do a wireless guitar in the future? They mentioned that when they first showed the title off to the press six months ago!
