BioShock blasts into view

360 News | With three new screenshots.

2K games has sent us through three of the latest images of Irrational Game's BioShock, which is set for release in the middle of 2007.

BioShock is a first person shooter set in Rapture - a utopian place where the top members of society (smartest, strongest etc.) can go to live in peace. Set underwater, it's inhabitants have discovered the secret of genetic manipulation. However, everything goes wrong and Rapture is turned into a dangerous place with scary mutants and a city that is in turmoil.

We'll have more on BioShock shortly, but it's clear that the game is going to be one of the big titles of 2007.

Gorgeous looking game. I've always found the idea of this game incredibly odd though. It's interesting but I'm just a tad skeptical on how it will play. Nevertheless it has alot of potential.

If the System Shock titles haven't given you confidence that this will be a great game, nothing will.

Also, Flamethrower?! Hells yes!

Well System Shock was superb I must admit, and Irrational Games are definitely a proven developer, but I still can't help but feel a bit skeptical about Bioshocks gameplay mechanics. Definitely innovative and a fresh idea, but living up to hype and suceeding can be tough. But my confidence in the game is a higher percentage than my skepticism so bring it on!

Hahaha, good man.

I've been avoiding a lot of the 'hype' and previews/interveiws/etc. about Bioshock so I can get as much as possible out of it. I don't want to start playing and sit there waiting for scene X or item Y that I read about.
My only real concern about the game is the modular weapon system - it's a big thing to take on and while I'm sure that they'll make it work well, I just hope it isn't really limited. Like, you can make pistol A and B, or shotgun A and B, you know? I want there to be a big range of different ways to modify and customize your weaponry, and I hope to god they can do it without it ending up that there's just a few powerful things to make that end up being the only things you use.
Still, I just know that I'm going to be impressed by this game.

OMG, when I read "Set in RAPTURE", I thought it was referring to the religious thing like the game "Left Behind: Eternal Forces".
It finally took a second till I realized what it was taking about. Lol

One of my most anticipated games for this year. Ranked high alongside: Crysys, UT3, and QuakeWars (wishful thinking) I'll get them all on PC.
