Root Beer Tapper released on Xbox Live Arcade

360 News | Fancy a pint?
Microsoft has released Root Beer Tapper on the Xbox Live Arcade, surely one of the least exciting releases since the service started up. In Root Beer Tapper, you need to serve beer to patrons and collect their empty mugs before the mugs fall to the ground. The game was originally released in 1983 and costs 400 points.

Like all Live Arcade titles, you can download a demo first. The full version includes 200 points worth of achievements and leaderboards.

I can understand that MS want to keep releases up while waiting on the bigger XBLA titles to hit, but they could atleast pull out some of the thousands of good arcade games instead of these 'classic' (read: boring as ****) ones.

hahaha - if they released worms first do you think they would get any sales out of root beer tapper - i think not!

microsoft are there to make money, just a like a cheap whore. don't think for a second they are your best friend, cause all they want is your money.

same with nintendo and sony...

I don't think anyone suggested otherwise...
I tend to think that more money could be made by releasing better arcade titles. You know, ones people might actually want to buy and play.

Edit: Unless releasing boring titles after boring title is actually part of some kind of Master Plan. Bombard people with crap long enough and they'll be so excited when something good comes along that they'll almost certainly buy it?
Nah, sounds pretty spazzy to me icon_smile.gif

I know its cheap for them to just re-use crappy old games like this but giving us these droughts sucks. Didnt they say there would be over 100 arcade games by the end of last year? It really dosent feel like it...

this is just a stab in the dark - but i think most of the microsoft employees who make the decisions on what games are out on XBLA DO LIKE crappy games like frogger, rally X, root beer tapper, paperboy etc. u know the 5 minute fixes/gotta get a high score type of game.

they are just from another generation unfortunately, while i think most of us who buy games freely at the moment grew up in the late 80s and early 90s alongside mario, streets of rage, gradius, castlevania. those type of games.

It was actually 50. I think we had about 43 games when 2007 hit.
