New XBLA titles announced

360 News | Ten more on the way.
The Xbox Live Arcade has recently been a tad dwarfed by Nintendo's online service but Microsoft made an announcement today via a press release confirming that ten new titles will be coming to the Xbox Live Arcade beginning from February.

The highlight of the ten titles has to be Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, which will be the first Xbox Live title to exceed 50MB in size. Other big titles include: Alien Hominid HD and Worms, which looks rather impressive.

Previously known titles coming to the service include 3D Ultra MiniGolf Aventures, Paperboy, Root Beer Tapper, and Catan, but three new games were also revealed; Luxor 2, Eets: Chowdown and Band of Bugs.

Band of Bugs is a stategy title developed by Ninja Bee, the team behind Cloning Clyde. You'll be able to create your own levels and share them through Xbox Live. Eets: Chowdown is a port of the PC version, where you'll be able to play through 120 new levels with new items and finally Luxor 2 is a puzzle title.

We're not entirely sure when these titles will be released, but Microsoft stated that the first release will be in "February" (so we assume there will be nothing released again tonight) and "a game may not be launched every week."

Do we know how many points Castlevania will cost?

I believe 800, though nothing has been confirmed.

1200 wouldn't surprise me after Lumines, but 800 would be nice as that's what I've got left over after Lumines!

I'd be surprised if Castlevania came in at anything under 1200 points, to be honest. Although it's be a pleasant surprise - trust me icon_smile.gif

Worms is looking petty slick, I'd wager it's going to be an absolute blast on Live!

The Heavenly Star skin looks very cool, but could seriously give you an epileptic fit.
