Just Cause sequel in development

360 News | Extreme action to rise again - and more!
Some months back we got our hands on Just Cause, a highly ambitious title for the Xbox 360 that was touted to deliver extreme action like nothing seen before. It was pretty fun, but ultimately failed to live up to the conceptual possibilities. In any case, there's always room for improvement, and Eidos is working on just that, plus a number of other games from legendary pedigree.

In a financial release, Just Cause is shown to have sold very well, certainly well enough to warrant a sequel. Sequel reports were flying about last year sometime, but we've no details besides the confirmed platforms - Xbox 360, PlayStation 2 and PC. Eidos explained: "We now expect Just Cause to sell over one million units in the current financial year. The sequel to Just Cause is in development."

Killer. Also mentioned are sequels for long-running franchises Hitman, Tomb Raider (possibly seperate to Tomb Raider: Anniversary), Championship Manager as well as new ventures Kane & Lynch and Crossfire.

I will go on record and say that this game will bring peace to the world.

The original Just Cause was a great idea that had a few problems in execution. The sequel will deal with those problems, so what we'll end up with is a game with a great idea and great execution, hence world peace.

Can't wait.

Oh man I played this game and I couldn't put it down once I picked it up. It did however get a little repetitive, nevertheless sequel is always good news.

Oh Hitman sequel. Hell yes!

I have only one question. Why isn't this coming to Ps3 yet?

I agree. I held off on buying the first after playing the demo for a bit and deciding that the problems in it were enough to stop me buying - but it had the potential to be fantastic. So here's hoping that they really deliver a good sequel.

Yeh I liked the demo also.
But the niggling problems like swapping from vehicle positions, vehicle to vehicle mechanics etc were its downfall.

Hope the sequel has tidied all that stuff up.
As I like the style of the game and the vehicle to vehicle insanity.

Fun, fun game. Any game that lets me grapple hook onto a jet plane, kick out its pilot, then fly it up into the stratosphere, jump out of the ****, fall down with the plane to near-ground level, then steer myself towards the plane, jump back in the **** and safely fly away is a game that deserves a sequel. Bring it on.
