Crackdown to include free entry to the Halo 3 beta

360 News | It's like Zone of the Enders all over again.
PAL gamers who were wondering how they could get entry into the Halo 3 beta have been thrown a lifeline by Microsoft. The company has sent word via a press release that gamers who purchase specially marked copies of Crackdown will automatically be invited to participate in the Halo 3 beta.

That is, when the Halo 3 multiplayer beta surfaces in autumn 2007, owners of Crackdown with access to an Xbox 360, hard drive and a valid Xbox Live Gold subscription simply need to load their copy of Crackdown into their Xbox 360 console and use the disc as a key to download the beta from the Xbox Live Marketplace.

The Halo 3 multiplayer public beta, which is a pre-release version of Halo 3, is scheduled for release in Autumn 2007 (March, April or May). This is certainly a clever way to move copies of Crackdown.

Crackdown looks pretty good, i think. Once you actually read about what you can do in-game it just keeps looking better and better.

But wow, way to drive sales.

I think Crackdown looks crap. Im going to buy it, use the HALO 3 BETA code and return it to EB.
