Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles detailed

360 News | First images revealed.
Ubisoft has sent through the first details on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game, which is set for release in March, 2007 alongside the film. The game is currently in development for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, PSP, PC, Gameboy Advance, Nintendo DS, Gamecube and the Wii, while for some reason it seems that the PlayStation 3 is to miss out.

In the game, it will be up to Leonardo and Splinter to reunite the turtles as Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo lose their focus and struggle to maintain their discipline. The game appears to be following the direction taken by the film; that is, it's looking like a more realistic, darker experience than other TMNT games which have been released in recent years.

“The TMNT movie is all about the emotions associated with family and teenage angst,” said Nick Harper, creative director of the TMNT game at Ubisoft’s Montreal development studio. “We’ve taken that philosophy and turned it into gameplay mechanics that will be fun and challenging.

Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo are playable and each have unique acrobatic moves, weapons and combat skills, such as Michelangelo’s fast nunchuk face slap, and Raphael’s powerful Sai throw. You'll also be able to work together to get to areas that the turtles wouldn't be able to reach alone.

The first images of the game can be found in our Media Panel. For more information on the TMNT game stay tuned to PALGN.

It looks terrible. These developers love to **** my childhood memories don't they?

haha yeah these pics don't look any good but here's hoping they're still early in development... a good TMNT brawler would be very welcome

Since the second trailer guys? Movies looks great. Meh, is a lazy movie to game port, what's not to be expected?

Beyond Good and Evil, PoP Trilogy, Rayman franchise, Splinter Cell franchise, XIII or Assassin's Creed maybe?

Speaking of the PoP trilogy... these screens look like they've just taken one of the PoP games and swapped a few models out for Turtles themed ones...
Which might not be too bad, given how good the PoP games were.

As for the movie, I never even started hoping that it'd be good. Ever since they first tried to re-invent the Turtles it's been steadily downhill for the franchise, in my eyes at least.

Really? I actually quite liked the new cartoon series, the gritty change from the 90's are a welcome one.

^ Yeah I bought the first box set from toys r us earlier this year because it was only 20 bucks and I thought it was pretty awesome. The anime style to it and the 'widescreen' battle scenes were awesome. The game does look pretty shocking but im not going to judge till I see it running first.

Cartoony visual would be nice, rather than deformed shadow clan.

Is that the one where April has purple hair? (I think it was purple...)
I saw a bit of it one morning by chance, after hearing good things, and was less than impressed. Perhaps I should see more before writing it off, but I'm not getting my hopes up about it.

Wow they really wrecked the show.

Wow, the visuals look horrible. They got what, 3 months to improve it, to coincide with the movie release, but can they do it?

i agree with JoeJoe....for once.

Yeah in my opinion Ubisoft is a pretty over rated company.. Besides the Splinter Cell franchise ive never thinked too much of the them.. Assasins Creed is shapping up nicely though.

I think it was actually after Beyond Good and Evil they started becoming commercial and crap imo. Rayman 2, Splinter Cell, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time and Beyond Good and Evil were awesome games. Far Cry was good but that was made by Crytek.

I also agreeing with Ugh for a change.

They've gone downhill. They're power hungry bastards now, with half-baked games.

Assassin's Creed is the only game in the horizen that may help Ubi regain it's reputation.

I am also looking foward to Assassin's Creed but i'm not gonna get my hopes up too high.

I loved the 4 player arcade game, though it had a high difficulty level and so ate up your coins really quickly it was really fun.

Turtles in Time is probably my most favourite but it was only 2 player on the snes. God I hated that.

4 Ninja Turtles and they make it a 2 player game... which I remember they also did it for the ps2 game whose name I cant be bothered remembering. That was a terrible game, combos and special moves all sucked badly.

I havent had time to sit down and play any of the prince of persia games so I dont know how the engine works. But Dante 3 is the kind of engine I would want for a turtles game.
